You are bidding on a 2001 Acura TL 3.2 V6 with 137,754 miles. This is a reliable and accident-free daily driver that features a JVC KW-NT810HDT touch-screen entertainment system, complete with Sirius-XM, navigation, hands-free Bluetooth, DVD, and Pandora connectivity. Professionally installed, this system was a $1,000 upgrade to the car. The vehicle also features a sunroof, cruise control, cold air conditioning, a leather interior, and power & heated seats. With the installation of the entertainment system, there is now a USB port in the center console.
Cosmetically, the body of the vehicle is very good, with some rust on the passenger’s side rear wheel well beginning to show. It has better than average paint, with a few small scratches and dings. There is no peeling, faded paint, or sun spots. The front headlamps have hazing that is typical for this make and model. Internally, the driver’s seat left bolster is worn through, as reflected in one of the auction photos. The remainder of the upholstery is in very good condition. Carpets are in very good condition, with some minor stains in the backseat area. The floor mats are worn but serviceable. Overall, the interior is in very good condition. There are no missing or broken trim pieces or components. All of the controls, including the seat heaters, air conditioning and steering wheel buttons, work properly.
The touch screen entertainment system is a JVC KW-NT810HDT that includes all of the aforementioned features. Additionally, the entertainment system has integrated steering wheel control options, a GPS lock-out override, live traffic updates, and a tilting screen. The system was professionally installed. It is intuitive to use and offers a great display. With the JVC head unit, this car now has features that are only available in much later model year vehicles.
The overall mechanical condition of the car is good. It passed Connecticut emissions on 7/20/2016. With that said, there are some issues with the car, which I will detail here. The check engine light is on with a code of P1457, which is the Evaporative Control System. The ABS and Traction Control lights are also on, which is likely due to a fault in the left front wheel censor, which shows an open circuit. The front Sway Bar links are broken. The drive belts show some wear but are still serviceable. The exhaust is serviceable but will need attention in the near future due to corrosion at the flanges. There is a slight pulsation in the front brakes. The wheels show some corrosion. The left-rear brake backing plate was replaced, as well as the bearing hub assembly, and includes a new rotor. The parking brake pads and clips are included but not installed. The car still serves as a reliable daily driver. It runs and handles well.
Four brand new tires were put on the car in mid-June. They have 2,352 miles on them.
The car is located in Columbia, Connecticut. Local pick-up is free. Inspection is available by appointment. The car is currently not registered. If you choose to ship the vehicle, we can help you coordinate with a transport service. We have a clear title in hand.
