1996 Acura NSX Targa Description
1996 Acura NSX with 77,954 miles; Formula red with black leather seats. Vehicle is stock with the following exceptions: NSX-R shift boot with SOS Knob, IPod Connection in Center Console, Car Cover, LoJack, NSX-R center armrest cover. The factory shift knob, shift boot, and center armrest with pop-up drink holder are included with the sale. I sold a 911TT about a year ago and replaced it with this NSX. The NSX has always been a dream car of mine since it came out in 91; however, I didn’t anticipate how sad my kids would be that they couldn’t ride in “Daddy’s race car”. I am the second owner and within the last year I have put a little over $6,000 into preventative maintenance. The vehicle is originally a CA garage kept vehicle. The paint and body panels are original with the exception of the front bumper’s paint. Upon closer inspection and under fluorescent lights you can see very faint sand lines in the bumper. The prior owner said that the front bumper was repainted due a shopping cart running into it. I planned on keeping the car for a long time, so I began replacing everything. Here is what I completed or had completed:1. Timing Belt, Water Pump, Tensioner, Crank Pulley, Spark Plugs, A/C Idler Pulley, Belts, and PVC valve. All seals that were taken off were replaced with new. Completed by Buerkle Acura’s Master NSX Tech. 77,808 miles (09/2016)2. Valves Adjustment. Completed by Buerkle Acura 77,808 miles (09/2016)3. Brake/ABS Fluid, Clutch Fluid, Oil, and Coolant Changed. Completed by Buerkle Acura 77,808 Miles (09/2016)4. Replaced all four rotors and brake pads (Centric Rotors and Acura Factory Pads) 10/20165. New Acura Battery (09/2016)6. Rear Hatch Stay-Ups (09/2016)- bought from Curry Acura- best price on factory parts7. NSX Titanium Key (09/2016) Bought from Curry Acura8. 3 Stage Paint Correction with Ceramic Pro Sport- Glisten Detailing 10/20169. Window Tint 35% side and rear glass10. Climate Control Unit Repaired (10/2016)11. Blower Motor Assembly and Transistor Assembly (10/2016)- I should have repaired the control unit first as that was the issue with the erratic climate control as mentioned in the prime forum! As you can see, the NSX is ready to be driven. The car is beautiful and gets a lot of attention, and the ever fun “thumbs up”. Everything works on the car and nothing needs to be fixed. The only cosmetic flaw is a 1 inch by 1 inch imperfection in the paint that has been touched up on the rear bumper (see picture). I am in no hurry to sell as the car will begin its hibernation in my garage for the MN winter and will continue to gain value.
