If you are looking for a an absolutely perfect Acura then if you send me your zip code and I'll send you the address of the nearest Acura dealer so you can go and buy a new one. If, on the other hand, you would like to have an absolutely loaded, low mileage [76445], luxury Acura TL with Tech package and can overlook some minor and mostly cosmetic flaws, then you probably want to keep reading.
I bought this car in 2012 from an insurance auction. It had been in a rear end crash that damaged the bumper, trunk and tail lamps. The vehicle went to a shop where it appears that some work was very skilfully completed but the final "fluff and buff" was not done well. The trunk was not properly aligned and looks like it is slightly open even though it is closed and locked. The trunk electric lock/unlock works flawlessly and the trunk is watertight. I had planned on having the work done to realign the trunk, but just didn't get around to it. Then, after a few months I discovered that when I was driving, I could not see the misaligned trunk and back of the car at all. Based on that, I had a bumper sticker made to thank other drivers and let them know that the trunk was really closed. Also related to the work on the rear is an area, about six inch by eight inch on the right side just above the right tail lamp. The body work there appeared to be shoddy and cracked when I got the car. Its been touched up but that may well make it look worse. There is a picture of the area but it is hard to make out white on white.
This car has what is referred to as a Rebuilt title. It went through a rigorous inspection by a Michigan Law Enforcement Officer specially trained as a Salvage Inspector. It is no problem to transfer this title to another person in any state. Please note, this is not a Salvage title. Vehicles with Salvage Titles are not permitted on public roads. Rebuilt Titles are legal.
There are a few other things that are not perfect on this car. The air bag light is on in the instrument cluster. The code reads that this is a problem with the passenger side curtain air bag. I never bothered with it. There are a couple of small tears on the top of the passenger door inside upholstery that IMHO don't amount to much of anything. You can see them in one of the interior pictures. Mechanically, the car is perfect however I need to point out that the serpentine belt tensioner bearing is starting to make some noise and should be replaced soon. It is an inexpensive part; there are many eBay vendors who sell the part for under thirty dollars.
Now on the plus side, we are dealing with a low mileage FWD 2009 Acura equipped with the bulletproof 3.5 liter Honda/Acura V6 engine. The car is pearl white with black leather interior. It has all sorts of goodies on it. Just to name a few, it has keyless start, navigation, power heated seats with seat memory for two different drivers, paddle shifters, back-up camera, auto-tilting outside mirrors when the car is in reverse, two remote key fobs - one for driver 1 and the other for driver 2. The car has a full component of owner manuals and a brand new set of Sumitomo tires, new brakes, and even has an extra half worn Michelin tire in the trunk. I try to carry one whenever I am traveling away from home in case a tire gets damaged and needs to be replaced. I've been doing this ever since the late 70s when cars started coming with "donut" spares and it has bailed me out more than once.
The posted mileage is what is on the car today. I'm still using the car around town [I went to the supermarket with it today] and so the mileage could be as much as 200 miles greater than the 76445 it is showing right now.
Any questions, please ask before bidding. I'm proud of my feedback rating and my seventeen + years on eBay. It comes from mutually satisfying transactions and I want to keep it that way.
About shipping: There are many shippers out there and I do not have any special relationship with any of them. If you want the car shipped all the arrangements are your responsibility. I will not allow the vehicle to leave the premises until it is fully paid for and any checks of any kind have cleared.
Please note that this is an AS-IS no return sale. The only exception will be if the vehicle has been grossly misrepresented. If this makes you at all uncomfortable, please do us both a favor and bid on some other auction.
Payment by cash (in person) or bank wire transfer. A deposit of $500 must be paid within 48 hours and the deposit only may be paid via Paypal.
One more thing:
I've been burned entirely too many times by non-paying bidders. Please bid only if you intend to pay. I expect payment in full within 7 days. If I do not receive payment within one week, on day 8, I will file non-paying bidder action with eBay and will either offer the item to the under bidder or relist the item.
You need to be aware that eBay of late has been filing non-paying bidder actions automatically after 4 days. I have no control over that. Your best protection against having that happen with any eBay transaction is to pay for items promptly.
