1987 Alpha Romeo Spider Veloce
This car has been garaged its whole life and for the past 15 +/- years seen very little driving.
I just had the car completely gone over and replaced most of the old rubber components and anything else it needed to make it perfect. To that end, we gave it a tune up and replaced:
·Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
·Thermostat and Housing
·Fan Belts
·Set of four brand new tires (less than 100 miles on them)
·New windshield (the old one was showing it’s age and had a small crack in it)
·New wiper blades to go with the new windshield.
·New convertible top ($1000 including installation) installed by professional auto interior shop. (It is the top of the line made from stayfast material with zip out rear window)
·New drive shaft carrier bearing (The old bearing was fine but the rubber that surrounds it was shot)
·New driver’s side window regulator (cable on the old one was done, apparently a common problem).
After all mechanicals were checked out I had the vehicle professionally detailed and took 100’s of pics afterward. So if your looking for a pic of something you don’t see in the auction do not hesitate to ask for it.
Now the car is 100% other than the digital clock is INOP. I did not even price a new one as I don’t really think it is necessary.
Car is completely rust free. The interior is stunning. The original paint is not perfect but is in extraornary condition considering it is 30 years old. There are very small chips here and there from 30 years of driving. From 10 feet away, the paint appears to be flawless. I just had the car professionally detailed and took 100’s of pics of it paying particular attention to any defects. The one thing I noticed that I never noticed prior to taking the pics is the back of the driver’s side mirror has virtually no paint left on it (see photo). Not a big deal and as I said before it is so nice I had never noticed it. In any event I can have it repainted for winning bidder if you want it done. I will not mess with it until then as some prefer to leave the paint completely original.
Car runs and drives like new. I would not hesitate to hop in and drive across the country. It has very low mileage that will be slightly higher at end of sale as I am driving it every sunny day.
Inspections are not only welcome but encouraged. I am in the self-storage business and have stores in Montague NJ 07827, Matamoras PA 18336, Middletown NY 10940 and Port Jervis NY 12771. So if you cant make it to my home in Hawthorne NJ 07506, I’d be more than happy to drive it to one of these locations for your inspection (I have access to a lift at all locations so bring your mechanic with you and have him/her go through it. Nothing to hide.
I am selling this vehicle along with dozens more from my collection as I have a wonderfull business opportunity and need to raise the cash ASAP. To make sure I sell them all I am doing each auction the same way. $1 starts the bidding and there will be no reserve on any of them. So make sure you have the funds available, any permissions you need from spouse parents, significant other, etc, completed any inspections and had all questions answered prior to bidding as you are bidding to win.
Good luck and happy bidding.
On Aug-15-16 at 09:22:42 PDT, seller added the following information:I don’t know how I missed it but I forgot to include the milage in the ad. It is Milage = 64861. Mileage will be slightly higher when picked up as I am still driving the car.
Plus I forgot to mention I also replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders.
