1978 AMC Gremlin
1978 AMC Gremlin Description
Here is one nice 1978 AMC Gremlin. A real survivor. This is literally Grandmas car. The family has really wrestled with selling this vehicle but none of us have the room. We shipped it out from Illinois about 6 years ago when Grandma passed. She bought it new in 1978 and has had it service at the dealer and a local garage in Illinois since new.It runs and drives great as we have been using it for family cruises to reminiscea few times a year for fun.The car currently resides in upstate NY where local pick up is encouraged but I will also help do what I can to facilitate the transportation which is the responsibility ofthe buyer. It has almost new tires, fairly recent shock absorbers, and we believefairly recent brakes. Original American Motors floor matstoo. You can tell by the condition that she has taken very good care of it and always kept up on the maintenance. Whenever there was a spot of rust she had it taken care of so some of the body panels have been repainted but well done. Currently there are a few very small spots of rust and some bubbling in the paint on the top of the fenders near the hood opening. You have to look hard to notice either. Thefront seat has been reupholstered which came out beautifully. The rest of the interior remains original and in great shape. I just had a new battery installed. I have attached 24 pictures which is the max eBaywill allow that indicate the condition of the car. Please consider the pictures part of the description. You can view the engine running here:
https://youtu.be/4QzOreMiFPwThe engine 6 cylinder 232, automatic transmission, AM push button radio, crank windows, and the best part...... a CB! The odometer is showing 33,000 miles but I am positive the actual mileage is 133,000 miles. Grandma drove a little but for a 38 year old car that's only about 3,500 miles per year. If any additional photos or information is needed send me a request and I will do my best to answer you to the best of our knowledge and to get back to you quickly with the requested information.
