1968 AMC AMX
• This is a no reserve auction. Relisted due to a non-paying bidder. If you have less than 10 recent positive feedbacks, contact me before bidding. If not, I will cancel your bid immediately.
• I will describe this vehicle to the best of my ability. Originally a Go-Pack car with a 343, 4-speed, 3.54 Twin Grip, front power disc brakes, and power steering. Also includes many extra AMC parts as described below. This package deal is well worth the starting bid.
•The car was last running and driving in 2014.The 343 in the car ran great and is believed to be the original motor. The rear end appears to be in great shape too.The front and rear glass are not cracked, but could have scratches.I drove the car home after purchasing it was surprised at how well it ran, handled, and stopped.
• This car would be great for parts or for a complete restoration. It can be saved, but doing so is not for the novice and it will be expensive, unless you're the one doing the work.It has major rust issues, including the front frame rails, the troughs, floor, trunk, rockers, etc.The hood is better than most and is definitely worth saving, but it will need some welding. The doors are in decent shape, but not perfect.
• Bought to be used as a donor car for another AMX build and does not include:Tranny, bell housing, flywheel, shifter, clutch pedal, right front fender, dash, gauges, seats, most interior parts, grill, front bumper, power brake booster, spare tire, fan shroud, and other parts.
• Includes four like new 15" Torque Thrust rims with AMC center caps and excellent Indy 500 tires as shown on the right side of the car. The set has about 500 miles since new.
• Includes four very nice 14" rally rims with center caps, trim rings, and very good tires (no, the AMX that the rally wheels are mounted on is not part of this auction).
• Does not include the black wheels and tires shown on the left side of the car in some of the pics.
• Includes a 290 that supposedly has about 5,000 miles on it, but I have no way to verify and have never had it running. Also includes a 343 short block that appears to be standard bore. Both motors rotate freely.
• Also includes two sets of AMC 304 heads.
• Includes all the AMC parts shown in the pics, including:Extra troughs that will need to be welded in, disk brake calipers, a radiator from a non-Go Pack AMX, two extra intakes and carbs (one is a 4 bbl, one is a 2 bbl), full dual exhaust in very good shape, extra taillight bezels, green seat belts, three flexplates for different AMC motors, internal parts for the doors, and other items as shown in the pics. Many of these items could be cleaned up and used, however, the parts may have pitting, rust, or other issues.
• Does not include any engine stands, dollies, or other non-AMC parts that might be visible in the pics. Please call or email if you have questions about any specific parts, including numbers, codes, etc.
• Clean title with about 100K miles on the body.
• Car is sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied.Bidders are highly encouraged to come look at the car before bidding. Please don't expect a running a driving car; this is definitely a major project and will need to be trailered.
Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
