Winning bidder was not able to follow through on the purchase so I'm relisting my Allroad.
I am the second owner of this incredible Audi Allroad. I purchased this car two years ago from the original owner purchased it new as a retirement vehicle. The original owner was an Automotive Technology and Physics/Astronomy professor at a local college and was absolutely meticulous about this Allroad. He gave me a record (see picture) of all the service he had done. Additionally he kept this car in a heated garage and hosed it off if he ever drove on the salty winter roads. It doesn’t have any rust or corrosion visible anywhere.
I have been equally as meticulous in maintaining this car and I can’t imagine you will find a nicer Allroad of this vintage available for sale. The next owner will know this car’s history and have records of all services performed. When I purchased the car it had an issue with the timing chain tensioner so I took it into Steve’s European Automotive in Waterford, Michigan to have a complete timing chain service performed. Steve’s is the most experienced and trusted independent shop for Audi service in Southeast MI. I have all the invoices of this service totaling almost $5k. As I researched this timing chain issue I found this to be fairly common for these 4.2l to need a timing chain service – new timing chain rails, hydraulic tensioners, etc. The next owner will have the peace of mind knowing that this expensive service has already been taken care of and should last for the life of this car. I have driven over 30k miles since this service was performed and the it has ran perfectly the whole time. I recently had the front and rear brake pads and rotors replaced as well as the air suspension which is covered by a lifetime warranty. I also had the flex pipes on both sides of the exhaust replaced, tie rods on both sides and a computerized 4 wheel alignment.
I really can’t express what an amazing car this is. I’ve driven the 2.7l Allroad and while those are nice cars, the difference in feel between the two is stark. This 4.2l engine has so much power (with an amazing exhaust note) yet cruises smoothly and effortlessly. The air suspension is super smooth but really responsive for such a heavy vehicle. I’ve never taken it off-road but it has very high ratings for off-road use.
The reason I’m (reluctantly) selling it is because it has become an extra vehicle and is not getting driven enough these days to justify keeping it. I have not filled up the gas tank since April and it still has snow tires (Bridgestone Blizzaks with about 80% tread remaining). I didn’t list all of the options because I think you can read them from the picture of the original window sticker but it’s loaded with every option you could get with the exception of the solar sunroof and navigation. The heated steering wheel and 4 – position variable height pneumatic suspension are my favorite features of this Allroad, and of course the 4.2l performance! In addition, the original owner had a $1200 3M clear bra installed in all rock prone areas (leading edge of hood, painted parts of front bumper, mirrors, leading edges of wheel well flares, etc.). Please feel free to email me with any questions.
