I bought this car new in October 2005 from Rusnak Audi in Pasadena (Carfax report says 2 owners because I leased the car then bought it out, but it's a one-owner vehicle). Currently has 144,130 miles. This car has been well maintained and I have every single service record since the car was new. This is a California car, with registration paid through October 2016. This has been my extra vehicle for the past three years since I got my S5 and and most recently the car was my dad's daily driver until a few months ago when the transmission started acting up (see notes below). Full condition and mechanical notes are below.
Auction includes 2 OEM factory remote keys, 1 valet key, and 1 non-remote key (see photo). All factory books and manuals are included, as well as the original window sticker.
I have sold two other Audis on eBay motors in the past. I have owned many Audis and know a lot about them. This is a great car and has been a great driver for me for 10 years but now needs a good home. Honestly, this was my favorite car from a size/performance/economy standpoint. I am fully disclosing all issues that I am aware of. Would rather pass this car along to somebody who will enjoy it at a good price than sell it to a dealer who will wholesale it.
Selling to the highest bidder with absolutelyNO RESERVE. Clean title in hand for smooth transaction. Must pay in for and pick up or arrange delivery within 7 days of auction close. Car is located in Carlsbad, CA. Payment by cashier's check or cash only, please.
Pre-purchase inspections:
You may inspect the car in Carlsbad, CA. Please message me for an address and to set up a time to see it. Test drives and on-site mechanical inspections are welcome. Please conduct all of your inspections and due diligence prior to bidding as this is a FINAL SALE with no warranty of any kind express or implied.
Condition notes:
Mechanical: Transmission needs a new valve body.Transmission codes for incorrect gear ratio are showing in the computer. Car shifts fine in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but does not shift into 4th and goes into limp mode and holds 3rd gear. I had a full (paid) diagnosis done by one of the best transmission shops around and they are confident that the problem will be resolved by replacing the valve body/mechtronic unit. This part can be replaced without removing the transmission. I just don't have the time to search for the part and do the repair, so I'm selling the car instead. I can provide a copy of their diagnosis on request via e-mail but would encourage you to conduct your own evaluation or inspection as I make no guarantees as to the extend of the mechanical repairs needed. I am simply providing this information to give you a starting point of where to look.
I have repaired a lot of things recently to get the car running like a top. This is a great buy for a DIY/mechanic who can repair the transmission issue and save thousands of dollars.
Recent services include:
143k milesincluding rear brake pads, sway bar links, spark plugs, fuel injector cleaning, 6 new ignition coils, new CV boot, crankcase vent hose, full carbon build-up removal from intake manifold, and an oil change. ($2,500)
140k miles: engine mounts ($1,250)
135k miles: all CV boots, front brake pads and rotors, cabin filter, fuel filter, radiator hose, oil change, battery ($1,850)
Mechanical needs (to the best of my knowledge)
- New shocks- Transmission valve body/mechtronic- Tires are getting close to the wear bars all around
Cosmetic Notes:
- Center console armrest lid is broken.- Front seat bolsters have some cracking on the outside edge vinyl but not through the material- Driver's side door speaker cover plastic is cracked- Several scratches and door dings on side of car- One small dent on crease of hood- Scrapes on front and rear bumper- Paint chip on rear bumper- All wheels have curb rash
Overall the car still looks good and looks great when detailed. Considering age and mileage this is a great looking car.
