2000 BMW 3-Series Description

2000 BMW 323i SEDAN

**PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION**

2.5 liter DOHC 24 valve inline six engine

AT / PS / PW / PL / AC

Rear-wheel drive

186,xxx miles

Beautiful dark blue metallic 2000 BMW, with gray leather interior and lots of options, like:

- power driver seat

- power passenger seat

- heated front seats

- tilt-wheel

- modern am/fm/Bluetooth/aux stereo that I cannot figure out how to work. Because I am old. That's why.

- power sunroof, but the sun shade is messed up, so we don’t use it

- tire pressure monitor

The car looks good, inside and out. (See pictures and judge for yourself) Except for the radio and a K & N air filter, the car is BONE STOCK, with no modifications.

The engine starts right up and runs strong. No leaks from engine or transmission. Engine does not burn oil. The steering and suspension are nice and tight, with great driving dynamics and feel – she handles like a BMW should. Runs down the road smooth and easy.

The carpet is original and has some stains, but nothing terrible. The driver’s seat has a tear on the left side bolster, (see picture) but other than that and normal wear it looks pretty good. The windshield and dash have no cracks. The lower front grill hit a raccoon, (see pictures) but it works fine. The clothe covering on some of the trim pieces and headliner are starting to separate, but nothing major. The right front turn signal seems a bit erratic - I think the socket is getting old and needs replaced - it is easy and I replaced the left one already.

Clear title, in hand.

NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS: The car will not go into reverse. This is a problem with the transmission, which may need to be replaced soon.

We have neither the time nor the money to invest, (refer to the “daughter in college” comment below) so we are selling the car. Our loss is your gain.

Other than that, the car is in good shape. No “check engine” lights or indications of any other problems. We are the second owner of the car. The original owner was (I swear I am not making this up) a very nice little old lady. No kidding. Car has never been raced (frankly, it’s not exactly a muscle car) and always female driven.

This was the car we let my daughter use in high school, but she has headed off to college, and she could not take the car.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTION: Are you willing to end the auction early?

ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: Are you willing to help me ship the car to some exotic, overseas location for a ridiculous amount of money?

ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: What sort of payment is acceptable?

ANSWER: Cash, certified check or cashier’s check. Quite frankly, there are a lot of scams these days. I expect you will want to make sure the car is genuine, not stolen, etc. Please expect that I will want to make sure your payment is genuine as well. If you feel this is somehow insulting, please do not bid.

QUESTION: Would you consider a trade?

ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: Would you allow me to make monthly or weekly payments?

ANSWER: No.

QUESTION: Can I see the car before I bid?

ANSWER: Yes, we are in the St. Louis metro area. If you wish to see the car, please leave me a message via ebay.

QUESTION: Can I drive the car before I bid?

ANSWER: No. I don’t have insurance for that.

QUESTION: Does the car have any scratches or dings?

ANSWER: Yup. Presume it is not perfect, and bid accordingly.

QUESTION: Would this be a good first car for my kid?

ANSWER: I think so. The car is a BMW but the engine is only 168 hp. Looks good, but not too fast.

QUESTION: Would this be a good track car?

ANSWER: You betcha.

QUESTION: Could I drive this to Cleveland / Omaha / Timbuktu ?

ANSWER: Maybe. Other than the transmission, the car seems pretty solid. Again, the only problem with the transmission is that it will not go in reverse.

QUESTION: Can the transmission be fixed?

ANSWER: We believe so. New reverse drum is $900, compete rebuild kit is $1,200 – both at www.bavauto.com.
