1995 BMW 7-Series Description

This car is one of a kind. For one, the 325 factory horsepower is alive and well and will give you whiplash. As they say, there is no replacement for big displacement. The V12 is very responsive, accelerating at any speed is smooth, easy, and prompt. It's the "L" model, for extended length, and has tons of leg room for the back seats, not to mention front and rear power and heated seats.
This model was the top of the line luxury BMW of the 1990s, where BMW introduces all of its new technologies and options. Original MSRP was about $90,000, this car was made in Germany. The 6-disc CD changer works great, as well as the cassette deck and AM/FM radio, all original BMW. Comes equipped with a car phone, that functions, but does not receive appropriate signals for the technology. All the windows are double-pane, which blocks out almost all road noise, and they are all in great shape and function well (auto down and up on all four windows). The arm rest between the rear seats folds down, revealing a ski bag, allowing your snowy skis to go into the trunk, pass through into the cabin, and not get your leather wet. The automatic transmission has a "manual" mode that allows you to choose the gear (when in "auto" mode, it behaves like any other car; putting it in 3rd means the car will choose gears from 1 to 3. In "manual" mode, it goes in the gear you pick). There are window shades the pull up out of the back doors to block sunlight and onlookers. The leather dash board is in perfect shape, with no cracks, rips, or tears. The BMW tool kit in the trunk is almost complete, and the car comes with the original BMW first aid kit in the center rear head rest. Tires have less than 1000 miles on them.
There are a couple of rust spots forming at the bottom of some of the panels where you can see the paint begin to bubble. The rear passenger side door has a large dent (see picture), though it is not deep enough to affect the window going up or down. The front driver side fender has a ding, as does the hood near the left chrome vent opening (see pictures). A recent hail storm hit while it was parked outside, and the top surfaces have some visible hail damage (I tried to capture it in the pictures). The rear window shade is powered, and sometimes needs help going back down, and the driver's side rear corner shade does not retract (all 3 remaining shades are flawless). The leather on the driver seat is worn, and on the passenger seat it is cracked pretty bad (see pictures). It has popped a check engine light once or twice, with the code referring to an issue with the oil separator valve, which is a system set up to maximize performance by using leftover pressure in the oil system. This has not been any sort of real issue, as it certainly does not under-perform. One or two of the pop-outs in the rear doors have trouble "popping out" when pressed.
There's a mechanical problem with the ignition system. I have a new switch, but the problem is the housing the key goes into. Turning the key should turn the ignition switch, but it does not. Instead I turn the ignition switch to "start" and then insert the key (for the code to be read) and it fires right up. I have one key, with built-in fob for lock, unlock, and trunk open.
I've used this car as a daily driver on and off over the past couple of years, it runs great and has incredible power. It puts all my V8s to shame. It's a unique car, and was featured in The Transporter and James Bond (Tomorrow Never Dies). It's hard to let it go, but I must. Let me know if you have any questions.
I will be out of town when the auction ends, I cannot schedule a pickup prior to September 12.
