2004 BMW 525ia Exc 1 Owner California Car! Gold Beauty! No Reserve Auction!
2004 BMW 5-Series 525ia Description
Offered for sale by the original owner is this 2004 BMW 525ia in superior original condition. This car was purchased brand new at Weatherford BMW in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been here ever since. All of the original books and manuals come with the car. It has always been garaged. As such, both the exterior and the interior are in above average shape. The interior especially shows very little wear, with excellent dash, door panels and headliner. The wood also shows little wear and minimal fading. Leather seats, including the driver, are soft and supple with no rips or tears anywhere. Minor creasing to the drivers seat. The paint is still quite shiny with very small rock chips to the front of the hood and a few minor door dings on the the passenger side. Barely noticeable. The engine has 170,500 +/- miles from commute driving here in the bay area. It runs very strong and nothing major to the engine has ever been done. All servicing and maintenance was performed on time and as needed. Now for the known issues. The car appears to need a wheel alignment as it has a slight vibration when braking from high speeds, really only noticeable when exiting the freeway. Also, when driving at high speed, and this only happens occasionally, when you really punch the accelarator, the car can skip a second or two as the transmission shifts into gear. Could be an adjustment is needed and I also must make mention that this transmission is the 2nd one. The original transmission was replaced at no cost by the dealer when it had roughly 30k on the odometer, so this one is at about 140k. Further diagnostic will be needed to determine exactly what the transmission may require and buyers here are encouraged to inspect and check the whole car out to their satisfaction PRIOR to submitting a bid to win the auction and own this car. Drivers side headlight module protrudes slightly from a very low speed impact with the garage wall to the front bumper ( see picture) . Lastly, California buyers need know that this car did NOT pass it's last smog check and the registration has expired. However, all of the fees have been paid an it is current. Prospective California buyers should email me first for a detailed description of the smog situation. Finally, this car is in top driving condition overall, the occasional issue with the transmission notwithstanding. It has been well maintained and preserved and still has a lot of life left in it. This is a no reserve auction. I do reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is listed locally in the SF bay area. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. No paypal deposit. Full payment due in 3 business days with bank wire transfer the preferred method, otherwise cash or cashiers check only. Car sold as is, where is.
