The BMW E60 M5. You’ll hear others describe the car as a beast. It is a beast. It can be a docile daily drive and with the push of the magical M button on the steering wheel, in an instant, it is thoroughbred M. For the uninitiated, 507hp is terrifying. The SMG responds instantly to a flick of the lever with breakneck shift thumps. You’ll be surprised how many times the TC will kick in… All this equals to permanent grin when driving.

For sale is my 2006 BMW M5, SMG, VIN WBSNB93526B581793. This car has everything:

TIRES & RIMS

The car runs a square setup with Renn Motorsport 19x9.5 et20 lightweight rims with 275/35R19 tires, 15mm spacers up front. The tires are new, Z rated, but could be of better quality (that is there is a slight vibration in the steering wheel until they heat up), mounted March 2016. I love the square setup as it removes that hair of understeer when cornering. Zero fender rub.

The Ugly

The bonus wheels are plastidipped, a dab of curb rash and have two center caps missing. Caps can be ordered for $30 a piece. I called the company a couple of months ago. Tread on the bonus wheels is from fresh to not so fresh. There is a poor ding repair on the driver front fender. It's buffed out but noticeable on inspection - view pics. The plastic surrounding the horn button is peeling; but, that is common and could easily be vinyl covered. Front wheel bearings could use replacing, have the parts, but not the time. I have only one remote key fob not two. The windshield was installed this month and is Safelite vice OE; but, works fine with the heads-up display.

Details, Details, Details...

I’ve had the car for a year and am the fourth owner. It has not been a daily driver. It hasn’t been run hard or tracked either (though that was my intention for the future). The car has some nicks and scratches from average road wear here in Alabama. A good detail would remove the majority of these I believe. I have thoroughly rehabilitated this car and it runs better than when I purchased it. Truly, I need a more economical car for daily use while I gear up for future expenses. While perusing Ebay, be weary of “mint” condition M5’s. Many don’t disclose, have bad records, looking to dump a car after beating on it or worse a dealer. I’ve put earnest work into this M5 and am a mature, responsible driver. Good luck finding one with the maintenance I’ve performed. I love the car; but I love my daughter more and she’s college-bound. While not perfect, I have done my best effort to fully disclose.
