You are bidding on an Imola Red E46 2002 M3 VF supercharged convertible, with a 6 speed transmission and a matching detachable hardtop. Only 68K+ miles. Exceptionally well maintained. Clean title in hand.
I purchased this car in mid-2012 (with 62K miles on it) and I am selling it because I simply don’t have the time to drive it. Since acquiring the car I’ve put a lot of upgrades and preventative maintenance into it. My loss is your gain. I’ll be very sad to see it go – but I’ll be glad when someone who appreciates the car will actually be out driving it.
A few housekeeping items first:
•This is obviously not a stock car. There are plenty of clean E46 M3’s you can bid on and buy, perhaps even close to the KBB or Edmunds prices. If you are looking for a stock car, this is not it.
•You should have the cash necessary to buy (either in hand or available) before bidding. You will likely not be able to finance the car – please don’t bid if you are planning to finance.
•If you want buy and ship I will work with you to arrange for pick-up, etc; however, full payment will be due before the shipping company arrives. I’d prefer if you actually drive it onto the shipping trailer. My distinct preference would obviously be a local buyer. I will work with you though to make the transaction happen. Obviously you pay shipping (if you choose to ship).
•You can certainly have the car inspected (someone can visit my house to inspect it, or once we have a deal done and deposit paid, we can get it to local shop). I will gladly drive you or an inspector on a test drive.
As for particulars on the car:
•2002 E46 M3 Convertible in Imola Red
•Six speed manual transmission (NOT an SMG, and NOT an SMG to 6MT conversion)
•VF Engineering Supercharger (in Stage 2 trim)
•Matching BMW Hardtop in Imola Red + Wind Diffuser (both stored since purchasing)
•VMR 19” V710 Wheels
•285/30R 19 Hancook Ventus V12 Evo K110 (Rear) + 245/35R 19 Hancook Ventus V12 Evo K110 (Front) with transferable road hazard warranty

•Hamman Aluminum Pedals
•Hamman Shift Knob
•Hamann e-brake Handle

In addition to oil changes, regular servicing, coolant flushes, etc. (performed at Bimmer Performance here in Raleigh since early 2013, and Import Motorworks in Cary before that) I have done the following:
•Upgraded existing VF Engineering Supercharger kit
- Purchased car with an existing VF Street Sport kit
- Converted to a Stage2/VF570 through installation of a smaller supercharger pulley, DME, fuel pressure regulator, new belt tensioners, custom software, Stage 2/3 Bosch fuel injectors, etc.
- Runs to 10psi of boost – car is very smooth on the street, and kicks you in the behind at 4,000rpm to the redline. Power delivery is extremely linear (as to be expected with a supercharger)
•Replaced the guibo (was showing some cracking, chose to replace)
•Replaced inner tie rods + alignment
•Installed HPF M3 Wideband and Boost Gauge Pods mounted to steering wheel column
•Replaced the stock head unit with a Dynavin E46 D99 (GPS, Bluetooth, etc.)
•Installed a new color matched front splitter
•Installed E46 Rear Chasis/Subframe Reinforcement Kit + all new rear bushings as part of the rear suspension mount package (from Turner Motorsports)
- I chose to install the reinforcement kit when I purchased the car, not because of any damage, but simply because I wanted to avoid any issues in the future
- Made sense to do all the bushings when the frame was dropped anyway.
•Replaced coils and plugs
•VANOS valve check and adjustment (shimmed where appropriate)
•Rear differential re-seal (small leak)
The car is in excellent shape, especially considering its age, but you will of course find imperfections here and there. The car recently passed inspection (including emissions). I have tried to accurately document the exterior and interior of the car in the pictures.
As for known problems – I have one key fob and one spare slim line fob. The key fob no longer locks the driver door remotely (you have to manually insert and turn the key). A few small chips and dings here and there. The floor trunk liner is stained. One of the rear seats has a mark/indentation in it. The next “upgrade” I was going to undertake on the car was replacing the stock HK speakers – they are tinny at times and I’m sure the cones are going (the Alumapro BSW 10” sub works great though).
Car is offered AS-IS, WHERE-IS, without warranty of any kind.
Happy Bidding!
