2006 BMW M5 Description

Selling this car in order to buy a more "family" car.

Purchased from private seller with 9,000 miles in 2011. Since then, I have put 30k miles used only for commute to work (approximately 20 miles round trip).

All stock parts. Recently completed oil change Feb 2016.

I have only taken my car to two places for service, the M Shop in Los Angeles and Bimmer PHD in Pasadena. I have only taken the car to the M shop once for oil change and switched to Bimmer PHD as they were closer. Here is the history of services and repairs done by Bimmer PHD:

2/03/2016:

- Performed BG engine performance restoration with oil service. Changed engine oil and filter, topped off all fluids and set tire pressures. Reset TPMS and CBS data, performed complete vehicle inspection and fault memory evaluation (see check list and recommendations), performed battery and charging system test (battery: 100%, alternator output: 14.2v Road tested vehicle; all systems ok at this time.

- Checked and set the tire pressures to manufactures specs.

- Performed multi point inspection.

- Diagnosed fault memory and found fault code: -2B21 Throttle valve actuator pre-drive check, bank 1, currently not present, occured 2 times. -271A Vanos control, intake bank 1 actual value too high, currently not present, occured 3 times. Performed a battery and charging system test and found battery to be at 36%, charging at 14.2v, charged battery to 100%. For fault 271A, brought oil temperature to operating temperature, performed vanos bleed three times, performed oil service, cleared fault memory, road tested and found fault has not returned and vanos system to not be making noise. For fault 2B21, cleared fault memory and road tested 6 miles, found fault has returned with: -2B21 throttle valve actuator pre-drive check, bank 1 occured 1 time, SES light not on. Performed throttle valve actuator measurement and found to be ok at this time, recommend replacing throttle valve actuator, necessary to remove intake manifold. Upon customer authorization, removed intake manifold to gain access to throttle valve actuator, removed and replaced throttle valve, installed intake manifold, cleared fault memory, road tested and found all systems to be ok at this time.

8/24/2015:

- Removed upper engine covers to access, removed wiring harness and ignitions coils. Replaced all spark plugs and Torqued to spec. Reinstalled removed parts and road tested vehicle.

formed BG brake fluid service, reset CBS data and road tested vehicle. Vehicle drives as designed.

- Inspected and found rear brakes to be at 3mm, min spec 3mm. Recommend replacing. Upon customer authorization, removed and replaced rear pads, sensor, cleaned and lubed all contact points, reset cbs data and road tested vehicle.

2/18/2015:

- Upon customer approval inspected and found SMG tank to be overflowing. Removed drain plug and replaced SMG fluid. Replaced drain plug and cleaned surrounding areas of residual fluids. Cleared fault codes and performed bleed and clutch teach-in. Road tested vehicle and reinspected. No further faults returned.

- Upon customer approval, lowered exhaust system to access differential assembly. Removed differential, and replaced pinion seal and right and left output shaft O-rings and seals. Performed BG differential fluid service. Re-assembled differential and exhaust system. Cleaned all residual fluids and road tested. Reinspected; no further leaks found at this time.

1/12/2015:

- performed BG EPR oil service

- changed engine oil and filter

- air and micro filters are clean and reusable at this time. topped off all fluids and set tire pressures. Performed vehicle inspection

10/07/2013:

- Customer requests perform M5 oil Service and filter change. Replace as needed

- Customer requests Brake fluid flush as CBS data shows due soon

4/15/2013:

- Inspected and found the rear brake pad sensor to be broken. Replaced rear pad sensor as per Tim under parts warranty.Road tested vehicle and found brake noise still coming from front brakes. Brakes measure Front-6mm (min 3mm) Rotor 34.7 (min 34.4). Rear-5mm Rotors 22.8 (min 22.4)

- recommend remove and clean front pads and lubed all contact points

deglazed rotors and applied BMW anti-seize to pads. road tested and found noise still persists. Recommend replace front brakes for noise. Brakes are safe and vehicle stops well. Customer has been advised.

8/20/2012:

Performed engine oil an filter change and set tire pressures at 36PSI.

6/01/2012:

- Removed right rear wheel. Removed brake sensor. Installed updated brake pad sensor. Road tested and found all systems to be ok at this time.

- check fault memory and found following faults: -A116 CAS ELV critical status

- signal above threshold. currently present -A112 ELV faulty. currently present performed test plan B6100-87 result "replaced ELV steering lock" recommend replace ELV. upon customer authorization

- removed drivers lower dash panel and replaced ELV and fracture bolts. coded ELV and calibrated steering angle sensor

- cleared fault memory and road test

- no further warning lights occurred. all systems ok at this time.

Some items that need to be repaired or checked:

- Hood shocks are worn and will not hold hood up

- Sunroof window opens but when it tries to close the anti trap function kicks in and prevents it from closing. Have to use the included wrench to manually close window. I suspect the window is slightly misaligned, initiating the anti trap function and preventing the windows from closing.

- Recent recall on power cable has not been done yet.

- Some brake dust caked on stock chrome rims.
