1957 BMW Isetta 300 Bubblecar Microcar
1957 BMW Other Description
In this listing I will give as much detail as possible but please feel free to ask any questions if you don't see your answer in this listing. Up for sale is my 1957 BMW Isetta 300 bubble car. When I started out building his car I had no intentions on selling it so everything that was done to this car was done with the highest quality parts and to the highest standards. I started by disassembling my project and inventory everything that I took off the car. I thensent everything else to be sandblasted including the body (the body was very solid and no rust). I then sent the body to a very good friend and well-known and highly respected body and paint man that has painted many cars on some well-known TV shows to have a beautiful Coral Red and sand Dune Beige paint job. While he was doing his magic on the paint and body I sent all of the other parts including the frame suspension and all small parts out to be powder coated. I then started building the driveline. Starting with the engine I sent the crank out to be rebuilt with a steel rod (not aluminum) and hadthe cylinder bored too match a new piston and rings and had the head rebuild. After completelyblasting the engine block with fine glass bead media and cleaning all ports and oil gallies I then ordered all new bearings seals gaskets Etc and began assembly on the engine (see pictures). Now with the engine complete I then basically did the same thing with the transmission and chain drive by media blasting with glass beads and ordering all new bearings, seals, gaskets etc and performing a complete rebuild on both of them. Now with the complete Driveline rebuilt and the parts back from powder coat I started assembly on the complete rolling chassis using all of the best parts available and using all of the Isettadudes upgraded parts. Doing this restoration I used all new parts, hoses, seals, gaskets, brake lines' wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake shoes, Etc. Once the rolling chassis was complete I received the body back from paint and started reassembly using all the newly rechromed parts. Now for the final part of the Restoration, I sent the car over to another good friend that I have worked on some car building TV shows with for the interior. Once again because I planned to keep this car I chose higher-quality materials. Since I completed this restoration late last year I have enjoyed driving his car around town and talking to all the local people who show so much interest in it every time I stop. Once again if you have any questions please feel free to ask. ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BUYER: I will deliver this to a local port but I will not handle any shipping.
