1997 BMW 3-Series sport Description

This is a very rare opportunity to but a wonderful E36 328ISBMWcoupe. I bought this from the original owner in December of 2015. I would go running everyday and see this car sitting in his driveway wasting away. He bought the car from Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC. He and his wife are both physicians and once they had kids they parked it. He special ordered this car with the Harmon Kardon sound system and M technic Sport Package. You can verify this by running the VIN with your local BMW dealer. I replaced many things on this car since it sat for so long. The list includes:
New Sachs sport shocks. Brand new Continental DWS 06 225/50 ZR 16 extreme contact tires with less than 200 miles on them. Balanced and aligned of course. New rotors and brake pads. Fresh oil change with Mobil 1 5W30 full synthetic, oil filter and air filter. New Spark plugs. New cabin air filter was also installed. There is a New Final stage unit as well for heat and A/C. I replaced the kick plate on drivers side and have one for passengers side still unopened in the bag. I replaced the rear window seals top and bottom. The drivers and passengers side outside door handle trim. As you know they always rot out. New Autocraft made in Germany battery. New BMW gas cap. Windshield trim is new as well. I removed all the trim and front and rear lights to clean out debris from sitting. There are brand new emblems on all 4 rims and also trunk and hood. I detoxed the headlights so they are like new as well. There are factory wheel locks on the car and I have the key. I have all the original manuals and stereo code. Original owner said that he only had passengers in the vehicle a handful of times. The leather is in amazing condition as is the carpet. I replaced the sagging headliner with emu. Windows work normally. The car runs absolutely flawlessly and clutch and 5 speed are tight. Stereo rocks. The mileage reading did pixel out about a month ago. But you can still make out mileage. Plus I can verify it through my neighbor if need be.
The original plan was for my wife to drive it. She drove it a couple times and decided she wants an automatic with this traffic in Raleigh area beingtoo heavy. You will be more than pleased with this. It is by far the nicest I have seen anywhere on the internet. The paint has some normal wear in the form of rockchipson the front bumper and hood from highway use and some spots on the roof. Spots on roof are nothing an experienced paint guy cant buff out. It could be excellent with the right care. Still is better than anything you will find on here. Also has one scratch on passengers side that I took a picture of. There are 2 dings on the entire body of this car. The front left quarter panel is not original but was replaced with aBMW DOT panel. Moonroof works normally. The only thing I cannot figure out is that the fan will only work on high. I searched all over the internet and forums and cannot find a solution. Possibly a relay. I thought it would be the final stage unit so I got a new one and that did not solve the issue. The fan control goes up and down but does not change the speed. Anyone who may have a solution let me know and I will try to fix it before auction ends. The reserve is set more than fairly. I can pick you up at the airport here in Raleigh if need be. 2 people have come and looked at the car and stated it is actually nicer in person than on the ad. They also stated it drives like a new vehicle. There are no funny noises or surprises with this car. You will be very pleased.

I have also replaced the cowel cover under the wipers that runs along the bottom of the windshield. They always rot out on these E36's as well. Bosch icon wiper blades are also new. All theclips under the side trim is new when I took it off to clean it.

I just got back from NC inspection station and the car has a fresh NC inspection for those that have contacted me from NC. The actual mileage is 85415..I got the odometer lights to work...Even better news!! After driving it all day today I have to say that I would put this car up againstANY car under $10K anytime. I cruised on I-540 at 73mph and got 33.1 mpg for over 30 miles. Anyone who is looking for a3 seriesand you don't get this one....I definitely support these Sachs sport shocks. Unbelievable!! A little costly, but well worth it!!

I have had numerous calls about this car. This is not a $3-4K 328IS BMW. Those cars need a lot of attention and will definitely have to have$$$ dumped into them to get them even remotely close to this car. In all actuality I would put this car up against many newer BMW'S under $15K. These years of the E36 BMW are the last of the 3 Series that were not complicated to work on and can be enjoyed as they are or made extremely fast. This happens to be a perfect base for either. Another question came up ona phone conversation today. I use only NON-ethanol fuel in it from my local gas station and it is 92 octane. It DOES make a difference in mileage and performance. Also the power mirrors work perfectly as well as do the power seats, windows, radio. It also has a cd changer installed when new in the trunk.

Another question just came in from out of state. I have a garage and can store the car for a week or so until you can come pick it up and pay in cash. If you are sending a truck to pick it up then I need the money sent certified and it has to clear before pickup of the car.
