1972 BMW 2002 Description

NO RESERVE
Here is a super rare find Engine and Vin number matching 2002ti that I am bringing you.
Please read it carefully as it is of great importance to understand why the car is so rare and why its a chance of a lifetime to own a very rare piece of BMW history.
History of the 2002ti models:
The 2002tidesignation becameknown sincethe 2002tiwon the 24 Hours Nuerburgring race in 1970. Also the 2002ti was not the only BMW model that carried the "ti" badge. All cars which carriedthe "ti" badge had a sportier engine with twin side-draft race carburetors, andit alsorepresented lighter and sportier models, similarly to the "is" badge in current generation 335iS with the exception that they were usually light-weight cars.
This car was originally ordered byaPersiangentleman residing in The United States and France. He was a champion rally racer from the famous "World Touring of IranianRally Federation" in Shah time.
He ordered this very rareTi Spec. car and had ALPINA roll cage andrace clutch installed in it.
He raced this car in a few rallies across Europe and the middle east (As his Authentic Badge on the grill shows) and enjoyed this car for a few years withso very few Kilometers which he put on it because he mainly rally raced Mini coopers.
In 1978 due to the Iranian revolution his race license, passport and celebrity status made the car unreachable, so it stayed in his homein France until 1999 when he imported the car to the U.S.
The car has since been restored to it's original glory with $9,000 Inka paint job. The car was originally Verona and he changed it to Inka during restoration in 2006.
Here is the list of all parts that this car has, some of which can not be found orsourced any longer:
-ALPINA roll cage including rear shock tower brace attached (worth $3,500 U.S.D)-Genuine period correct Dino steering wheel (worth $1,800)-Gold BBS 13" re-furbished wheels (worth $1,800)-Newly replaced crack free dashboard and gauges-Cocoa mats-original AM/FM radio with one speaker in the center console-New set of ALPINA French tail lights with Orange reverse lights (worth $700 each)-Ansa race exhaust-40 Side draft Webber carbs-Newly replaced windshield and gaskets-Original set of front grills in like new shape (they are original to the car)-Recaro race seats with red stitching and race harness seatbelts-California mirrors-French Euro amber front signals
I have many pictures but ebay only allows 24. Also the car currently has the original 4-Speed transmission and original ALPINA race clutch.
The car is free of rust as it was always garaged most of it's life in France.
Super rare, clean and a once in a life time opportunity.
The car is currently registered and titled in my name in California.
The car's speedometer is in kilometers and an original 36,500 kilometers which is approximately 22,400 miles.
This car is not one of the European 2002ti models which were made from Sept-1969 as 1970 and 1971 year models but a 1972 model year U.S. allocated production BMW 2002 ordered from BMW with 2002ti specifications motor, which actually makes an anomaly. The car's value is based on the being a real racer and the story attached to it.
Good luck!
