This is a 1970 BMW 1600, not a 2002. It was bought out of Tampa, FL from an owner who had owned it since 1973. According to previous owner: BMW spent ~ 3 years in NY before brought to Tampa, FL where it spent the remainder of its life. Spent past 30 years parked in garage after owner stopped driving it because of knee injury. Car originally Malaga but painted Tan sometime in early 1980’s.
Not yet running but cranks freely. Gas tank professionally cleaned. Engine gaskets & seals look really good. Needs brake & hydraulic work throughout vehicle. Rear wheel bearings or brakes are binding but move. Front wheels roll freely. Lights, turn signals, wiper, horn & heater blower work.
Shock towers look solid. Wheel wells look solid. Spare tire bay is rusted out. Also some rust in area of passenger rocker area, front valance/nose and along hood & trunk rims. Spots of surface rust here and there.
Engine looks complete. Glass good all around. All 4 hubcaps. Car looks unmolested. Even has Becker radio and tire jack & spare tire. Interior rough but headliner good. New tires all around.
