1998 BMW M3 Base Sedan 4-Door Description
This car is being sold AS IS. It's up to the buyer to decide if they want to try to repair the engine or part the car out. This is why I am allowing the opening bid to be so low.
According to the car history report this car has never been in an accident and has only had two owners over the years. Would make an excellent base for a track/race car. Also besides the few cosmetics blemishes would make a great restoration and the transmission is automatic with no known issues.
This car has a minor oil leak at the valve cover gasket and a coolant leak, there is coolant in the oil and oil pan. This could be because the head gasket needs to be replaced or the head or block are cracked, I can't see a crack but that does not mean there is not one there. Keep this in mind when bidding if you need to budget out repairs in a worst case scenario.
It's registration is current but won't pass smog in California as it sits. Have original California title. It is not Salvaged or Salvage title.
This would be a great project or parts car since it's a real M3 and the body is nice and straight with a few minor dings/scratches. Only noticeable dent is golfball sized on passenger rear door. Interior is fair condition, glovebox has some issues and a small tear in the drivers seat and passenger seat. Radio is stock and wired for CD changer in the trunk but no CD changer. Clear coat is starting to chip/fade on small spots of the front bumper, roof and trunk/rear bumper area.
Please see all pics to assess condition. Car does have 188,150 miles.
Buyer is responsible for shipping costs/picking the vehicle up. It does start currently but assume its not drivable if you are bidding on this car. Buyer has 10 calendar days to pickup the car.
On Nov-08-16 at 00:17:41 PST, seller added the following information:For some reason the questions are not posting to the Q&A section here but I just wanted to add is this car has relatively almost no rust since a few bidders were asking. There is no rust that I can see in the battery tray, just theoriginal green paint, Ihaven't taken out the carpet to inspect the rear shock housing but I did take a peak underneath the car and like I said I can see no rust. This car spent virtually most if not all of its life in California so there is very minimal if almost no rust.
