2016 BMW M4 Base Coupe 2-Door Description

The 2016BMW M4 GTS 1 of 700 World Widewas conceived based on a fundamental conviction: even the best performance can be improved. It enhances BMW’s award-winning M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine with a revolutionary water injection system – the first in any production road car. Injected as a fine spray, the water evaporates, lowering the intake air temperature. This, in turn, reduces the compression temperature in the combustion chamber, minimizing the risk of knock and allowing the engine to operate with higher boost pressure and advanced spark timing. The result – 493 hp at 6250 rpm, and 443 lb-ft of peak torque from 4000 to 5500 rpm, all harnessed through a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic – allows the M4 GTS to roar from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

And roar it does, through four 80-mm, M-engraved tailpipes, with exhaust notes sent through a lightweight titanium rear silencer. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires grab the road, balanced by ultra-high-performance M Carbon Ceramic Brakes that bring its awe-inspiring acceleration to a quick, fade-resistant stop.

The accent on the front splitter in Acid Orange creates an effective contrast. Forged and gloss-lathed M light alloy wheels Star-spoke style 666 M in Acid Orange round off the athletic appearance. 19" at the front and 20" at the rear and with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, they are designed for maximum performance.
The BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line equipment details were extended to include a front ornamental grille and gill elements in Black high-gloss. Rear lights with OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology are used for the first time, giving this high-performance special model a whole new look when night falls.
