This 2006 BMW Z4 M Convertible is a clean two-owner example with only 48k miles that features its stock3.2 liter S54 M engine and six-speed gearbox. Cosmetics are in good shape withSilver Grey Metallic paint looking glossy over black leather interior. The car has been well cared-for with routine service performed on schedule, and has been maintained with only BMW OEM replacement components. Recent service includes a new timing chain tensioner and headlight ballast on 4/30/16, The car carries a clean Carfax and New York title.The body is straight with no visible dents or dings, and the car has no history of accidents. The paint remains shiny with no fading apparent, a testament to the garaged ownership history and regular detailing. There’s some normal wear on the paint associated with its age and mileage,the bottom of the front spoiler has some road rash that’s visible when car is on a lift.
The E86 M uses many of the performance parts found on the E46 M3 including compound brakes with aluminum hubs, stainless steel pins, and cross-drilled iron floating rotors. Most of the M3’s suspension components are used on the Z4 M with struts up front and a central-link rear suspension with twin-tube shocks all around. The stock 18″ M Double-Spoke alloys are original to the car and the car has above average rubber all round.
The interior is fitted with Black Nappa Leather and features with power (heated) seats, cruise control, BMW Assist, and premium stereo. The leather-wrapped M Sport steering wheel with tri-colored stitching, and the aluminum trim on the door handles and gauge bezels add to the overall attractiveness of the small cabin. All of the gauges, lights, climate control, power accessories, and stereo function properly. The power soft top works exactly as it should and is free of any tears or stains.
The car is powered by the same 3.2 liter S54 inline-six found in the E46 M3, and delivered 338hp to the rear wheels when new which was slightly less than the M3 due to ashorter exhaust system. A new 6-speed Type H manual transmission was utilized as the M3 gearbox didn’t fit the E86 Z4 chassis.
These cars are future classics, very few cars can match the handling and fun of this pkg. The car speaks for itself, you can tell immediately it was well cared for. Non-smoker and garage kept. Do not sleep on this one, Not many clean ones left and definitely not at this price. No disappointments with this car, buy with confidence.
