2011 BMW 3-Series Base Convertible 2-Door Description

There are status symbols and then there are BMWs, perhaps the ultimate combination of high-end luxury and performance you'll find anywhere. This rather handsome 2011 BMW 335i convertible is a shockingly affordable way to get into that rarefied atmosphere and nobody will ever know that you paid pennies on the dollar for the privilege. With only 23,212 miles on the odometer, this BMW is still extremely fresh in every way and unless you track the model year changes in the magazines, your neighbors may not realize that it's coming up on six years old. Regardless, the white paint shines like you'd expect from an expensive German luxury car and panel fit is extremely good. The 3-Series has always been a favorite, combining just the right proportions with plenty of performance, making it a car that does everything well. Chopping the top off only amplifies that feeling and it makes for a very handsome 4-seater, too. The front fascia is aggressive without being so low-hanging that it's damaged by every ripple in the road and BMW has long since graduated from the school of spoilers and wings, so the shape is clean and elegant. The familiar BMW twin nostril grill lives up front, between a set of projector-style HID headlights, while out back the dual exhaust trumpets are framed by a gray valence to help keep them out of sight. If nothing else, this car looks clean and sleek. The stunning red leather interior is a bit flashy for the Germans but it sure works here! There's almost no wear, as you'd expect on a low-mileage car, and if there are any demerits, it might just be the comfort marks on the driver's seat. Otherwise, it looks pretty much as new in every way. The fat steering wheel frames big analog gauges, reminding you that BMW still puts the driver first, and every luxury and convenience feature you can imagine is included, from automatic climate control to BMW's iDrive interface, which uses a screen and control knob to control secondary functions. Don't worry, the manuals are included and you'll figure out the system in no time. This convertible also sports a retractable hardtop which vanishes into the trunk in about 20 seconds just by touching a button on the console. Even better, there's still decent room in the trunk with the top down, making this a great choice for, well, just about anything you do this side of hauling lumber. The 335i nomenclature means a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 living under the hood, and in typical BMW fashion, it's turbine smooth. Thanks to those turbos, it makes a mountain of torque, moving the ragtop with the kind of effortless ease that we used to reserve for gigantic, slow-turning V8s. It still doesn't mind hustling, of course, and the turbos spool up so quickly you'll never feel any lag, especially with the 6-speed automatic transmission that always keeps them on boil. The engine is completely stock, but if you're the adventurous sort, a simple software change can unlock a lot more power, but even as it is, this is a fast, fun car. The all-independent suspension never seems to put a tire wrong and, of course, the brakes are massively powerful. It's ultra-clean, since it's never been used in the winter weather and the stainless exhaust system has the most wonderful 6-cylinder purr you've heard in years. Giant 18-inch alloy wheels wear staggered 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear tires, another indicator that BMW is serious about performance, even in their convertibles. An A-list ride for a bargain basement price. There's no way this car will last long, so if you're even remotely considering this one, call now because it'll be gone before you know it. Call today!
