2004 BMW 5-Series Alpine Package Description

This is a last call. I have had a series of local buyers who have agreed to buy this car, and not one has ever shown up. This car was sold through eBay recently, when an odd issue arose before it was picked up. As the buyer was out of state, the sale was cancelled.
There appears to be an intermittent (likely electrical) issue with the car. It ran flawlessly yesterday and drove throughout the day without issue. A few weeks ago though, it flashed a warning engine light and indicated "check brake lights" even though the lights were functioning normally. A check with an engine scanner showed no codes, and the warning lights went away without explanation.
At this point, the car simply needs to go, as I am not driving it, but I am paying for insurance. It was inspected in September, so PA residents have until 09/2017 to find the issue without state concerns. I can donate the car and receive a $2K tax credit, so that's what I'm asking here. No reserve and no secrets.
If you have some time to track down the issue, this car is a steal. It's listed at a tiny fraction of the book value, and is in beautiful shape. I do know that I could get far more if I worked through the issue myself, I just don't have the time to deal with it, and it needs to go NOW.
This will be the last time it is posted for sale.
----------------------------------
I am selling my 2004 BMW X5 4.4i. I bought this car about 3 years ago, and did quite a bit of work to it, but will now get a car through work, and do not need two. It is in beautiful condition, goes anywhere, quiet, and very fast. It has the 4.4i V8 motor with 315 horsepower, which makes it effortless to drive. It has the slide out trunk floor, which makes loading and unloading super easy, and the load levelling active suspension to keep things balanced when it's loaded up. It also has the panoramic moonroof, which allows most of the roof to open fully and is gorgeous. The driver's seat is fully electronically adjustable, and has 3 memory settings for different drivers. All four windows have one touch up and down, and the rear windows have sunshades. The interior has full leather, WeatherGuard floor mats in front, and the wood burl trim on the dash, doors and shifter.
This model has the Alpine package, which includes heated seats, front and rear, dual zone climate control, hill descender, heated outside mirrors, and a heated steering wheel (my personal favorite). The tires on it have less than 5K miles on them, the a/c works like a refrigerator, and it passed PA inspection without issue two weeks ago. The only cosmetic issues with the car are some stone chips in the hood edge, a small swell in the driver's rear door, and a parking lot rub on the passenger's rear corners. I have included pictures of all of these at end, and you will see they are minor.
When I got it, it had an intermittent misfire, so I replaced a bunch of the electronics, which is always the weak spot in a BMW. The good news is, they are all new now! I replaced:
- all 8 ignition coils- all 8 spark plugs- the primary engine computer- the secondary engine computer- the active suspension computer- the driver's window motor (it was getting slow)
All told, that's about $10K worth of repair work that went into this car, for more than a $17,000 total, as I intended to keep it for a long time. So, my loss is your gain!
It's a great car and in amazing condition, I just can't keep it.
Please note: the auto check provided by eBay shows a lien/loan. This was for a previous owner (as the report shows) This car was purchased with cash, and the title is entirely free and clear.
Please feel free to ask any questions, I'll respond as soon as possible. The car is for sale locally as well, so this auction will be ended if it sells locally before it sells here.
Vehicle must be picked up from Pittsburgh, PA. I am located less than 10 mins from downtown and can meet at AAA or any local notary we agree on.
A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close.

On Feb-06-17 at 11:23:37 PST, seller added the following information:

PLEASE NOTE: I feel I need to add a note to this auction, as I continue to receive confused emails. I have not listed this car at $3-4K below its book value because a brake bulb is out. The check engine light comes on intermittently, and I have no idea what the issue is, nor do I have the time or motivation to sort it out.

Some repair will be needed to the car, and that is why I have reduced the price so drastically. Again, the car is inspected through September in PA, which allows a PA purchaser that much time to diagnose and repair before facing a deadline.
