1998 BMW 7-Series 750IL Description
Hello everyone, what we have here is my BEAST, a 1998 BMW 750IL with a V12 Motor. I have owned this car for about 16 great reliable years and it has been well maintained. It was regularly dealer serviced at Flemington BMW, NJ and parts replaced as needed. We have traveled many trouble free miles together. There is about 162,000 miles on the dash but this car is still tight. The motor is tight, powerful and runs smooth and seamlessly. She is a little older but if you test her you better have grunt cause she can bury her needle right quick and all the way back around to the nine o'clock position, that's moving, and she gets there real quick. She was fully optioned and has a security/protection package . The transmission was redone /replaced to like new condition including a new converter at 100,000 miles ($7500). The gas tank was replaced new including pump, suspension bushings, bars, brackets, tie ends, engine hoses, belts, sensors, etc. The car has been well maintained parts replaced right away as needed.
The a/c, heat and heated seats works great and the interior features and heated seats are functional. Fully optioned, Power everything. The tires are like new and it has a spare with equipment and trunk tool kit. As it will eventually start to happen to older cars there will be little issues. Mostly basic and aesthetic. Reason for the no reserve price as is. Paint, Body and drive-line are all in great condition. The window motor in the rear passenger seat on driver's side needs service or replacement. The dealer put in a new window motor a few years back and the car spent most of its life in a garage and also in a garage since moving to Florida 5 years ago and with the car and switches getting very little use ( I don't have people in my back seat) but window motor is now having issues again. A window curtain does not retract but is an easy fix. I have priced out the little issues that would put the car back in like new condition and it is around $3200. And with BMW parts you know that's not many parts. This car was $102,000 new and has lots of life left in it. For example if you paid $5000 for the car and if you drove it for 40000 miles that is 0.125 cents per mile. Well worth the satisfaction. The car is still solid and will drive for many more miles.
I am starting the auction at $2000 with No Reserve as I feel it is a fair price. Offers from serious bidders will be considered. I recommend coming to see the car and inspecting as this is a local pickup. Should buyer need to have a truck pickup the car they will have to arrange that. Payment must be made at time of pickup
and will accept cashier's check or cash in person and no personal checks will be accepted. Car is sold AS IS! Thank You.
On Apr-04-17 at 06:55:18 PDT, seller added the following information:Hello and good morning. No electrical issues known. Does need a running light bulb in the back right corner. A 2 minute change. No Leaks and I had most hoses changed and all new cooling fluids and belt changed before moving down here. I would put it this way. If I had to run up to see my son in NY I would get in my car and I would be there in a lot less than 24 hrs :) That being said it has been in the garage and I spend most of my time in my truck. The moldings at the very bottom of the door edges could change and a few other aesthetic things but the car is mechanical sound and solid. It is the last of the handmade cars out of BMW Germany according to what the dealer told me when I bought it :) It is a 1998 so it is not perfect but it wouldn't take much to make it perfect. The issues are aesthetic, a molding, a button, piece of cloth not as tight, etc. The sunroof works and does not leak. All key functions work and the windows and sunroof can be operated from the key in the door lock. The fobs are worn but I wouldn't want to count how many times they have been pressed. I tried to show as much as I can with the photos and they are pretty accurate. I love this car. She is my Beast. She doesn't ask me any questions, she just goes. Hate to see her go but my family and life are as such now after moving South that the car just hangs out. She should drive till she dies instead of fading away in a garage. I don't see any rust so it there is any it is small and where I cant see it. I would recommend that, as we all should do, see the car if you can, and service the car when you buy it. I have always maintained the car and I changed the oil 3-4 months ago but it is a high end car with high end systems so I would have it all checked out and serviced. For example it has has a sealed transmission so you don't need to mess around with that but filters and things still need to be serviced. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.
Hope this helps. kind regards
