2006 BMW M3 Base Coupe 2-Door Description

You are bidding on an used 2006 E46 M3 w/Competition Package. Purchased the car in Oct 2014 at 43,049 miles. Currently have 52,000 miles. First off, it has a reconstructed title. I bought the car knowing it had a bad title due to passenger side rear quarter damage. I did inspect the area for damage and it showed signs of bodywork and respray. The repairs was not perfect but well done enough that I could live with. For me, biggest reason for purchasing a bad title car was the low mileage, exterior color and competition package. The car was inspected on a lift for subframe damage and didn't see any other visual damage at the undercarriage. I do understand that proper inspection for subframe damage is performed with subframe out, but that wouldn't have been possible before purchase. The subframe has NOT been reinforced yet, but I have inspected the area for crack every oil change and there's still no signs for cracks or damage to the subframe area (I have included detail pictures of the subframe mounts). Plan was to do the Redish plates or Vince's bar reinforcement when subframe bushings needed replacement. The KW V2 coilover suspension was already installed by the previous owner and it was reinstalled when I added the strut reinforcement plates and the Ground Control camber plates. Soon as I purchased the car, all fluid was replaced and needed maintenance was performed. I've taken lot of picture to show the condition of the car very well. This M3 has the competition package option. Unfortunately the wheels and bigger rotor/caliper are missing. The previous owner replaced them with aftermarket wheels and I'm assuming he didn't want to pay for the expensive Competition rotors so he replaced them with regular M3 parts. Beside that, all other competition options are in place including reduced ratio steering rack.


The car will come with two original BMW remote keys. Driver and passenger air bag recall have been done recently. Pre-purchase inspection is welcome at buyer's expense.

Drivetrain:

Engine is all original with only 52k miles. No signs of oil leak. I have done the valve adjustment twice since I bought it. Second time due to valve gasket leak and why not recheck it when the valve cover is off. Last valve adjustment and Vano pump tab inspection was done on July of 2016. I've done the full Bisen Vano bullet proofing including the timing guide and vano bolts. Cooling system overhauled expect for the radiator. All the belts and pulleys have been replaced. Motor and transmission mounts were replaced, but original one didn't look too bad. Shift linkage bushing were all replaced during the guibo and center support bearing replacement. Spark plug were replaced during Vanos work. To my knowledge, engine and drivetrain are in perfect working condition.


Exterior:

The exterior shows signs of being driven with rock chips and light scratches. Entire car is rust free. The paint is in excellent shape with no peeling or discoloration. I've included a lot of close up pictures for your review. I have noticed that the driver door body gap to rear quarter panel is slightly off, but door and window open and close perfectly. All rubber is in excellent condition except for the passenger side rear window rubber (typical issue with cheap DIY fix). The car came with carbon fiber which I got it painted and the original trunk when I bought the car. The original trunk will be included with the sale. The aftermarket trunk is not a perfect fit but one of the best fitting ones I've seen. It still has the original windshield with little pitting but no reason to replace.


Interior:

Driver side seat has some scratches and wear but no rips. Passenger and rear seat are in almost perfect condition. Manual seats are firm and tight mechanically. Carpet is clean with no stains. Headliner is in excellent condition with no sagging. All electrical function properly including sunroof, lock, and windows.. I have installed a override electric fan switch and USB charger port on the center console. Also installed a Bluetooth aux input for audio. Mount and hard wired installed for Escort 9500ix (detector not included with sales) under the rear view mirror. Dash cam installed and will include with the sale.


Suspension:

The car rides on KW V2 coilovers with APEX 18X9.5 ET22 square setup with PSS tires. The 18" APEX wheels are in new condition with no curb rash. Ground Control camber plates were installed with reinforcement plates at the shock towers. Rear shock tower and the lower control arm spring perch also have the reinforce plates. It has a stock front sway bar but rear has an aftermarket which previous owner installed. It also has the Tuner camber bars in the rear. The lower control arms are original to the car but in good shape with no play at the bushings and ball joints. RTAB was replaced with Powerflex polyurethane bushings. They are starting to make squeaking noise and need to be lubed again.


Alignment spec:

Front: Camber -3.0, max Caster 7, Toe 0 inches per side

Rear: Camber -1.5, Toe -.15 inches per side
