2000 BMW X5 Description

2000 BMW x5, 4.4 l DOHC v8, AWD, Auto. Sitting a touch over140k miles. Heated leather seats are in good shape and functional, all the power controls including lumbar support function properly. All power windows, sunroof, etc function properly. Factory stereo works but it's only AM/ FM and cassette player. The dash does have some pixel issues I have lived with, this is a very common issue on this year of BMW's. AWD functions well with several new parts.
The engine pulls very strong and runs very smooth, however the engine is not original. About a year after I purchased this vehicle the plastic timing guides for the timing chain disintegrated and pumped a bunch of metal shavings into my oil, this resulted in catastrophic engine failure and replacement with a good used engine I sourced online. To keep from suffering the same fate on my new engine I replaced all timing components, chain, guides, etc and refreshed many seals on the new engine. While I was that far in I also replaced the valley pan gasket and installed an air intake from an earlier bmw v8 with larger air runners (often called the Dinan mod as this is the same trick they used). This trick results in a little more grunt from the v8. I also rebuilt the Vanos solenoid (BMW variable valve timing) while I had the engine apart.
The transmission shifts fine and has new ams oil fluid and a new filter. The trans does occasionally kick down hard when approaching a stop. I've searched around and found many who say this is common on these transmissions and have lived with it for years. Out side of the alarming jolt it provides the trans seems to otherwise function flawlessly. The trans however is not original to this vehicle either, after my engine replacement I was testing the AWD function when the front drive shaft pulled out of the front differential and punched a hole in the side of the original transmission case. at first we tried to mend the hole but that was ultimately not successful, and as such I sourced another used trans online.
As for the front drive shaft it to was replaced with an aftermarket unit that had extended splines to prevent exactly what happened to me from happening, I also replaced the front universal flex joint on the front diff, and put a new output sprocket and chain in the transfer case. That said the transfer case still seems to seep a bit of fluid from the front shaft seal, I just have not taken the time to take it back apart yet.
The catalytic converters were both replaced as after all of my engine and trans work was done I was driving it and the drivers side cat was clearly coming apart inside and plugged, this also resulted in a mysterious exhaust noise I have yet to figure out. The engine and everything runs fine it's just making a consistent noise every time it runs. The welds on the new cats look like hammered dog poo (won't lie I'm just not a talented welder) but I do not believe them to be the source of the noise. The aftermarket cats do not currently throw and check engine codes, I do not live in an area that has emissions testing so I cannot verify they will pass an emissions test.
Interior is in good shape, leather is not ripped and torn, the wood trim has a few cracks in it as I've I tried to show in the pictures. New rubber floor mats with only one winter on them. Heat, AC both function properly.
All that said, I've put about 10,000 trouble free miles since all the above work was done and the car has performed well, very comfortable and quiet with a good amount of creature comforts.
From my memory as I type this, here is the list of new parts with around 10k miles on them. I have invoices for MOST of these but I refuse to look at them for my own mental health.
