This is a smoke-free, pet-free new car trade in from our dealership. It's nicely equipped with such options as the "M" Sport package including 5 speed manual transmission, 12 speakerHarmon-Kardon stereo (with 2 subwoofers) and extendable thigh support heated leather front seats. It starts right up, runs and drivesjust fine but we've listed it as a "Mechanic's Special" because it needs some repairs.
#1 The convertible top doesn't go all the way down: It goes through the first stage but stops at the point the panel covering the storage well is supposed to raise. We're not a BMW dealer and didn't diagnose the problem. It could be anything from a sensor to a loose wire to a bad electric motor?
#2 The driver's seat upholstery is torn and needs replaced.
#3 The passenger's side door mirror is broken off (a visit to a junkyard or eBay or a website like Car-Part is in order?)
#4 The "Check Engine" "ABS" and "Traction Control" alerts remain lighted with the engine running. We did NO DIAGNOSIS.
#5 There are a number of "bumps and bruises" in the form of nicks and little dents here and there around the car, we've tried to highlight all the worst ones!
That's it! It has the potential to be a pretty cool cruiser and with summer just around the corner you can probably have it all functional for the first "Topless" day!
