2001 BMW M Roadster & Coupe Description

Up for sale is my S54 M Roadster with 55,000 miles and rebuilt title. The low miles are correct according to CarFax. I do not have complete documented maintenance history. I purchased it already repaired and took it through Georgia's rebuilt title process back in Jan 2014, when I purchased it. I do not have pictures of any damage; it was damaged in the front passenger fender and the front bumper cover was ripped off in the process (though reused). The rebuilt title is in my name, clear, and ready for the new owner. It also comes with a passing Georgia emissions certificate.
Yes, you can drive this home with confidence. Fly in, drive home.
I've owned it almost 3.5 years and have driven it about 5,000 miles in total. My typical drives in this car are in good weather, and up into the Georgia mountains. It is not used for commuting, but is used regularly for weekend trips and is kept dry and garaged.
Mechanically it is in great shape. It starts, runs, and drives reliably and is a blast to pilot. It willingly takes off to 60, 100 mph without worry. The interior is in good but not perfect shape. The AC blows cold, the heated seats work. There are no VANOS worries or noises, and there are no alert lights on in the dash. I only have one key; manuals and floormats are included. It does not have keyless entry or a CD change (both were dealer options).
The repairs and maintenance I've done since owning it:+ New sonnendeck convertible top, with new tension straps, in July 2016, about 1,000 miles ago+ Aftermarket fix to sagging glovebox in April 2015 (purchased right here on eBay)+ Had auto-dimming rearview mirror repaired / re-silvered in June 2014+ Replaced all three ///M badges with factory new ones in March 2014+ Regular oil changes, fluid changes, coolant changes, and inspections
It has quite a few misgivings, as well. While the drivetrain is in great shape, the rest of the body is not and the price therefore reflects it:- The exterior locks on the doors do not work; the only working exterior key hole is the trunk, which operates the power locks as expected.- Both front seats would benefit from their seat bushings replaced (bushings included; this is a common Z3 problem)- Both front seats have broken or missing seat-edge mounted seat belt guides, a common Z3 problem.- The tires have less than 3/32" remaining, and are showing age via cracking and flat-spotting. I've comfortable using them as-is and would trust them in even a long drive.- The powered convertible top barely lifts and closes the top on its own on level ground (it is "weak")- The radio only shows "CODE" in the display, despite multiple dealer tries to guess the code. I do not know if the radio or any speakers are working.- The exterior temperature gauge shows incorrect exterior temperature due to the sensor missing (replacement included).- The front bumper cover is misaligned due to many missing plastic tabs on the back of the plastic bumper cover. It stays on, as-is. In addition, much of the plastic behind the front bumper cover is missing such as brake ducts (I have one of them, separate from the car), under-engine plastic, and forward-lower wheelwell extensions.- It has rattling rear shock tower mounts, yet another common Z3 repair- The wheels' satin finish is cracking in various places on each wheel, and there is some minor curb rash on each, as well.
I strongly encourage inspections before purchasing; if out of town and having it shipped I am happy to take it to have it inspected on your behalf, at your cost. Please contact me before setting up a time and location for inspection. The Z3M is sold as-is, with no returns or warranties implied or otherwise included. If you have any questions please call or text me at (404) 647-3132.
I require a non-refundable $200 deposit within 24 hours via PayPal. The deposit is applied towards the purchase price. For the balance of payment I accept cash in person, a bank wire transfer, or check. If paying via bank wire please allow 24 hours to clear; I will release the car and title 24 hours after payment. If paying by any check - including certified check - allow 7 days to clear; I will release the car and title 7 days after depositing the check to make sure funds clear.
If you are flying in to drive it out I will meet you at the Atlanta airport or Atlanta train or bus station. The car will be full of gas and ready for your drive home.
If you are having the car shipped, the cost and coordination of shipping is your responsibility. I will make myself available to meet the shipping company. Full payment must be received and cleared before I'll release the car for shipping.
Please make plans to fully pay for the car and either ship it or pick it up within two weeks of auction end. I'm a private owner and am flexible; two weeks generally gives you a chance either to get a good price on an airline ticket into Atlanta or plenty of lead time to find a shipping company via uShip or the company of your choice.
