2001 BMW 7-Series Description

2001 BMW e38 740iA Sport

Only 76k Actual Miles

Rare Anthracite over Black Leather

This is a real Sport series:

  • Factory staggered M-Parallel wheels, sport suspension, steering wheel, contour seats, sport transmission and rear dif, shadowline trim.2001 was also the only year for the sport steering wheel and body colored side skirts.
  • This particular car also has the rear sunshade option (rear and passenger windows) more commonly found on the iL.
  • Xenon headlights

This car also has the following tasteful additions:

  • AC Schnitzer style front lip, rear bumper and exhaust tips, and rear roof spoiler. The valve covers have also been powder-coated red.Blacked out grill to match the rest of the trim.
  • XM Satellite radio, trunk-mounted Clarion DVD patched through to the stock Navigation unit.
  • All lights (exterior/interior) have been converted to LED (front fogs, tail lights, etc… ).
  • Window tints all around.

Fresh oil change and new fan clutch. Tires and pads/rotors are less than 1 year old.

If you’re in the market for an e38 Sport, the 2001 incarnation is the best (and final) year. In my opinion the Anthracite/Black color combo is the most attractive as well.

With such low miles this car starts, runs, drives, and stops like a new car. Everything is tight and responsive… it performs flawlessly. I would drive this car anywhere! The interior is in excellent condition as well; even the front seat side bolsters show no wear, and the front cupholder still works perfectly. All accessories, options, and electrical components work; including all seat functions, windows, and sunroof… A/C too.

Now… after saying all that, this is still a used 16-year-old car. Although it is in excellent overall condition, it is not new! There are some minor flaws, some common to the e38: the headliner is starting to sag near the rear window, the glove box latch cable is broken (it’s in the closed position), scratch and small rust bubble forming on the bottom of rear driver-side door, the factory wheels have a few small scratches but have not been curbed. There are NO door dings or any body damage.

Real 2001 e38 Sports are becoming harder and harder to find… most people slap m-parallels and maybe the steering wheel and/or seats into a regular model. This is a good one… you won’t be disappointed. I live 15 minutes away from O'Hare Airport and would be happy to pick you up if you choose to drive the car home. I'll alsoassist in anyway I can to work with your shipper etc.
