2002 BMW M Roadster & Coupe Description

Rare combination of the steel gray metallic exterior with the sophisticated and understated black-on-black interior. (No two-tone here.) Only 66 of these were ever made in this combination, and this is the last year of production, 2002.

Based on the award-winning S54 engine, the M Roadster was deemed the best handling car in 2000 by Top Gear, and the handling is stunning. The 315 hp engine is loaded with torque and makes the most intoxicating roar when you stomp on the gas.

This particular vehicle is all stock except for a new black cloth Robbins top, professionally installed last summer, and an aftermarket replacement subwoofer. Relatively low mileage, averaging ~4500 miles per year. Adult, non-smoker owned, with a clean interior. Garage kept, consistently maintained by BMW specialist shops, with maintenance records. Original owner's manual and other documentation also included.

No dings or dents, but some stone chips on the front fender, as you would expect from a car that has been enjoyed for 15 years. No accidents, but according to CARFAX (available on request), the car was involved in a minor incident in 2003. Otherwise, the title and vehicle history are clean.

Extras include a spare tire (not standard for these vehicles), a light cloth cover, and an extra set of rubber floor mats.

An adventure to drive, and still gets looks after all these years. I have enjoyed this car for nearly 10 years; I am the second true owner. (A consignment dealer in California “owned” it for a year, putting fewer than 500 miles on the car.) A growing family means that two seats are no longer going to be enough, so I am looking for a good home for someone to enjoy this vehicle on my behalf.
