1997 BMW 3-Series Description

Good running condition, starts, runs and drives fine. WILL NOT CURRENTLY PASS California EMISSIONS TEST! Owner was told it was not "financially feasible" to repair to pass emissions. I personally did not speak to the technician or see any paperwork to confirm this.There are multiple MIL codes: PO173, PO189 bank 2, PO173 fuel trim, PO740. Airbag dashlight has been on for many years, no specific code found for airbag problem. Sunroof does not work, but does not leak either. AC works great, new compressor and more, engine doesn't make any bad noises, transmission shifts perfect, brakes are fine. All 4 tires are nearly new with aftermarket rims. Brand new 1 month old NAPA battery, new O2 sensors, new radiator, water pump, fan clutch, etc.Nice Alpine stereo with trunk CD changer. No significant body damage. California car, no rust or other body problems seen. Car was repainted years ago with factory color. Paint showing some age with oxidization on the roof as shown. Interior shows pretty heavy wear as expected with this age/mileage.Clean CAtitle, clean Carfax. Car was last registered 11/2016. Vehicle is sold as-is, where-is. It is safe to drive, and drives well, but it isnot registered or insured at this time.Note: I'm selling this vehicle for my brother-in-law who can no longer drive it due to a medical condition. He is available for questions if needed. The car is in a residential area of Ojai, California. I looked at the car, took the photos and drove it myself. It's a solid, quick car. He loved this car very much and it was and still could bea daily driver. Documented repair receipts included with the car as follows:11/14 All 4 O2 sensors and new OEM ignition lock.12/14 Smog check PASS 6/15AC rebuild including new compressor, beltand drier. Fan clutch and window regulator done as well.10/15 Oil pressure sending unit and underhood cleaning.11/15 Major cooling system overhaul, new all aluminum radiator, water pump, idler & tensioner, belts and hoses. 7/16 Oil change with Mobil 110/16 New Bosch sparkplugs, air intake boots, filters, etc.
Repair receipts totaling $4300 within the past 3 years.
