BMW e31 840ci 8 series 1996
1996 BMW 8-Series Description
1996 BMW 840ci. Black on black with grey pillars and headliner. Great condition. No rust that i can see. Has hard to find black leather interior with the wood trim. 5 speed automatic with slap shifter option. Dinan chipped. All lights work. A/C and heat work. Has the m62 8 cylinder engine i feel is easier to work on then the 12 cylinder and gets better mpg. car shifts perfect. Fresh paint as the original paint was in bad shape. Has new tires with less then 1000 miles on them on staggered factory 18 inch M-Pars. Power steering pump and motor mounts have been replaced. Steering wheel was replaced because original was torn. Has new inside A and B pillar covers, these are often broke on 8 series and are hard to get and expensive, had to be ordered from Germany with a several week wait. Car is not perfect and has several small issues, none of affects drivability. Radio does not work, never has, could be as simple as a new radio needed. also there is a message for tail light bulb out, however all lights have been checked by BMW shop and work. Has some pixels out on the information center, common issue, and has the typical e31 loose steering. I am including new tie rods that should help tighten the steering. Sunroof panel needs to have color matching headliner put on, as it is missing at this time. Wood trim has the usual cracks. Car recently had the GM module rebuilt, another common problem on these cars and one you should not have to worry about ever again. These are rare cars with only a little over 7,000 sold in the USA from 1990 till 1997. already picked by Hemmings and several other collector magazines as an investment car and will surely follow the BMW e9 and e24 big coupes in going up in price, no checks, trades or anything else. Please contact me with any questions. I feel the car could be driven anywhere in the USA right now. Shipping at buyers expense and has to be picked up only after clear payment.
