1979 BMW 5-Series Description

A fun to drive head turner. This car does have some surface rust in the common areas, like under the rear tail lights and the bottoms of the doors. The drivers side frame rail is in bad shape too, but it doesn't look like there is any through rust. The carpet was removed a few years ago and it was sprayed with lizard skin and black-ish carpet was put back in. The interior is black and not original. The front and rear seats are M comfort seats from an E28. The carpet and door panels are from a 1978 530i. It is an automatic. The headliner was pulled out, but the sunroof still has it's headliner. I originally bought this as a parts car years ago, but it was in good shape so I just started driving it. It hasn't been driving in almost a year, but I charged up the battery and it started right up. I drove it daily for a few years and it always started. The ac has been converted to 134A but I'm sure it needs to be recharged. Over the years I put in a new radiator, injectors, rebuilt calipers and various other maintenance items.. The wheels are Borbert and come with the car, along with the roof rack with has bike holders. The odometer works and says 103,xxx, I got the car at 88,xxx but I have no idea if the mileage is legitimate, the title says mileage discrepancy.
If you're handy this could be a really great car, or you could part it out if you already have an E12 that needs some love. While it does start, you should tow this car as it hasn't been driven in a year, but it will drive right onto a trailer. This car is sold AS IS, this thing is far from perfect.
