Why is it for sale:Major life changes (marriage, a new job and a move to Chicago, IL) means that it makes less and less sense to have a 500whp German coupe in the stable. I honestly never thought that I would sell this car after spending so many years building it, but, as they say: "life happens". It has absolutely lived up to my considerable expectations and I will sorely miss it. Below is a brief write-up about the car, please PM me with any additional photo requests or questions.

Factory Options (9/10):
The car is fully loaded with the exception of bluetooth audio and the power rear sunshade (a rare option). Both of which can be retrofitted, if desired.
Premium Package:Power, glass 2-way moonroof with remote, one-touch operation and sliding interior sunshade; power-adjustable front seats with 3-setting memory system for driver's seat and outside mirrors; Nappa leather interior; rain-sensing windshield wipers
Power Seat Package:Power-adjustable front seats with 3-setting memory system for driver's seat and outside mirrors; width-adjustable power front seat backs with 4-way lumbar support
Cold Weather Package:3-stage heated front seats, high-pressure liquid headlight cleaning system, ski-bag
Individual options:

  • Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG)
  • Xenon low- and high-beam headlights with auto-leveling feature
  • Park Distance Control (rear)
  • Metallic paint
  • On-board navigation system (2013 maps)
  • Harman Kardon AM/FM stereo/CD audio system with 12 upgraded speakers (including 2 subwoofers), upgraded amplification, and vehicle-speed-sensitive equalization
  • Power, glass 2-way moonroof with remote, one-touch operation and sliding interior sunshade
  • Full documentation of all service since I purchased the car in 2009 (including all manuals in a leather ///M logo pouch)

Interior (9/10):
The interior of the car is in great shape, it came out of a local members 2006 M3 coupe. This particular interior is fully loaded with power, lumbar, heat, lumbar support and inflatable side bolsters, plus the ski pass through on the rear seats. The seats look brand new in the rear and have minimal wear in the front. All electronics (sliders, seat heaters, bolsters, lumbar, etc.) work flawlessly. The headliner and all pillars have no sagging fabric.
Modifications:

  • The fading interior trim has been re-sprayed with a custom metallic graphite color.
  • OEM Alarm with coupe motion sensor, tilt sensor and DEI shock sensor
  • Custom programming by Terraphantm (window roll up, alarm activation, high/low beam, corner light disable, etc.)

Issues:

  • The sunroof shade clips are broken, so I disconnected the motor to prevent further damage.

Options:

  • Replacement sunroof cassette with no issues - $75 value
  • PLX digital gauge setup - $300 value
-Combination vac/boost and air/fuel ratio gauge
-Modular setup, so you can add other parameters to the same gauge, IIRC up to 16 per setup
-Includes gauge, mount, display module, vac/boost module, air/fuel module, oxygen sensor, software and all accessories

Exterior (8/10):
The exterior of the car is in decent shape, especially considering it was daily driven by some of its previous owners. Throughout my ownership, it's mostly sat under a Bavarian auto ultimate car cover which I replace every three years for good practice. To add, the exterior is washed once a month during the summer, waxed once at the beginning of the season and the underbody is washed before winter storage. Speaking of which, the car isn't driven during the winter. All exterior electronics function correctly and there is minimal pitting on the windshield and headlights. The car is a great 20 foot car. It is in no way a concours level vehicle on the exterior, but looks great for a car of its age.
Modifications:

  • Bimmian drivers door key delete
  • New front kidney grills and I will include the paint matched matched ones.
  • Red tinted tail lamps
  • Facelift inner tail lamps

Issues:

  • Rear bumper has visible damage in two places. 1. Near the two hook cover from the cars only time being towed since I didn't want the driver to tie down the car by the control arms as that usually bends the arms and 2. At the lower center, from what seems to be like typical NYC license plates bumps.
  • Drivers side rear tail lamp housing is cracked from the inside. Water doesn't leak into the trunk, but it's worth mentioning.
  • Fog lamps removed - I put black tape over the brackets so the new owner can re-install them, if desired.

Options:

  • TiAg CF CSL trunk - $900 value
  • Bavarian auto ultimate car cover - $125 value
  • Bmw outdoor car cover - $100 value

Wheels (8/10):
The wheels have some curb rash from their previous owner. Appearances aside, they've got brand new Continental tires manufactured in April of 2015. They are OEM 225F/254R sizes, were hunter road force balanced and have been filled with nitrogen in them.
Engine Mechanicals (13/10):
Mechanically, the car needs absolutely nothing. I have a six inch stack of maintenance records, receipts and DIYs from my time with the car. This is the first car in my ownership that I've supercharged. I went this route to keep the cars soul of being a high revving straight six cylinder without being too overpowering. The horsepower level it's at now is enough to surpass 90% of the cars you'll see on the street while being civil enough to let your other half drive it to work. It's been this way for five thousand miles now and is good for 525whp on 93 octane as it is. If you desire more, you can achieve 550whp with the addition of methanol injection and it's not unheard of for these kits to put down 650whp if you convert to E85.
Modifications:
Modified VF Engineering VF570 Kit - Take the normal VF570 kit from VF which includes:

Issues:

  • Power Steering lines leak (common issue)
  • CEL due to EVAP leak (inspection is valid until 11/2017)

Options:

  • Stock motor parts - $200 value

Brakes/Suspension (9/10):
Overall, there are no major issues with the suspension, brakes, or tires, but some components will need replacement within 10,000 to 15,000 miles. The brake rotors have 25% of their useful life remaining and the pads have 50% their life remaining.
Modifications:

  • New OEM Front Control Arms
  • New OEM Guibo
  • TRM Coilovers 780F/895R Spring Rates
  • OEM Front Strut Tower Reinforcement Plates
  • Turner Rear Strut Tower Reinforcement Plates
  • RE Rear Spring Perch Reinforcement Plates
  • GC Race Front Control Arm Bushings
  • GC Monoball Rear Control Arm Bushings
  • Godspeed Rear Lower Control Arms
  • Turner Monoball Upper Control Arm Bushings

  • Turner Solid Subframe, Differential, Motor and Transmission Mounts
  • Rolled Rear Fenders
  • Camber: -3.5F, -2.5R, Castor: 5.7, Toe: -.4F, .2R

Issues:

  • The car will likely need new rotors at the next oil change. Rotors can be sourced from BMW for approximately $300 for all 4 corners.
  • I recently took off my BBK and during the swap got some air in the lines.
  • Tie rod ends are frozen at my existing alignment settings.

Options:

  • N/A

Pricing:

  • $26,000 with all optional extras ($1,700 of value)
  • $25,000 with the CSL trunk, sunroof, stock engine parts and one car cover ($1,300 of value)
  • $24,000 without any extras

The price is relatively firm. Everything it needs is clearly listed above. All fluids are fresh and I've only driven it a handful of times in the last few years. To add, there are significant modification and maintenance records.
Now, this next bit is for you people from New York:
I do not want to hear cries of poverty. There will be no discounts for the car since you HAVE to come pick it up. Random scratches are not justification for a four thousand dollar price reduction. It's not relevant to me if you can buy a 2018 M3 from Oklahoma for half my asking price. Your buddy's advice that you should pay "X" for my car is not an effective negotiation tool, nor is the fact that you have 7 kids to raise, or some other stupidity going to be a factor in the deal we make. I'm sorry, but these kinds of responses will not be entertained at all. In fact, I had a recent fecal sample examined and it was determined that I do not shit money. I work hard, like you. I do overtime and I too recently travelled to pick up a well prepared car, so please spare me the stories. That being said, if you're a reasonable person looking for a properly setup M3, kindly contact me on here or on my phone at 201.839.6119 -Chauncey
I am happy to do a PPI at buyer's expense from your choice of local shop (MaxPSI is a well-known local BMW shop if you need a starting point). Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is approximately 30 minutes from my house - I'd even be happy to pick up buyers from the airport. Delivery assistance can also be provided, unless you're from New York and you begin to piss me off.
Thanks for viewing, I'll see you at the next track day!
