2001 BMW M3 Description
2001BMWM3 (E46) convertible, black on black in and out (custom black grills and wheels, black leather seats).
I LOVE LOVE this car and baby it but we have a new baby in the house and although it fits a baby seat just fine (has the metal clips), it's too difficult to get him in and out and time to get a minivan or SUV. Drives like a dream.
All major scheduled maintenancedone (Inspection I and Inspection IIs.... the most recent Inspection II, scheduled for 120k done @ 127,384 on 1/10/215 @ Solo Motorsports in Norcross, GA).
I have records for, I believe, everything since I purchased in 2010 and also have the dealer pulled records what was in the system from when it was new until I bought it.
Pristine condition other than the leather on driver seat which is worn in places and coming unstitched in others plus the passenger leathers is wearing where you get in and out but is still intact. See pics. No cracks or scratches in doors, dash, and overall interior otherwise.
Electric seat controls, both seat heaters work well and fast, cassette, CD changer in trunk (I've never used and the DICE Silverline audio adapter uses the CD input to play through iPhone)
New convertible top as of 2011.
I baby this car. Wash and wax regularly. Just had a full detail with clay bar conditioning done this week as you can see from the photos. Also condition leathers regularly. New battery as of ~6 mos ago. Always cranks like a dream even after sitting for a week. Replaced several inside, center console parts with OEM in the past year (ashtray door, shifter boot, brake boot and console, rear ashtray and sliding door).
Custom mods:
- Beyern Spartan 19" matte black wheels (!$1500 value)
- I believe I can add in the original wheels but it's not guaranteed. Touch base if this is a deal maker for you (but the current wheels are WAY nicer.)
- Matte black front and side grills
- UUC Ultimate Short Shifter
- Top notch, premium, after market sound (Bavarian Soundworks stage 1 upgrade plus sub-woofer); DICE Silverline audio adapter for any smartphone / player with headphone jack
- Remus exhaust (growly)
- K&N cold air intake
- New factory/dealerships replaced key-fob less than a year ago
Issues / slight maintenance needed in future:
-driver seat leather mentioned above -little jets that spray front headlights and the trays they sit in are missing. Easily replaced if desired but I haven't done so. -some scratches on passenger door window tint. Easily replaced
-some small blemishes / road chips in front of hood and area, typical of a used car with miles

2001:
"The engine is an absolute gem. This ferocious, screaming motor hurtles the
M3down the road with an urgency that now rivals the world's best sports cars from Porsche and Chevrolet. BMW estimates the
M3will hit 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and will eat up a quarter-mile in 13.5 seconds—on a par with the 911 Carrera and Corvette -- and we think those numbers are accurate......
On the road, where corners are taken at significantly slower speeds than on a racetrack, the story is markedly different. The
M3feels heroic once again. From the driver's seat, you'd never know you were piloting a passenger car; the feel is pure sports car, with an agility and crispness that belies its practical abilities."
