“Performance package (ZHP)
The Performance Package was an inclusive option sold in North America, which was labeled the ZHP option code in the USA and ZAM in Canada. It was available for sedans from model years 2003 to 2005, and available for coupes and convertibles from 2004 to 2006.It included various aesthetic changes over the regular 3 series, as well as functional and mechanical enhancements. The ZHP was equipped with sportier cam shafts and more aggressive engine tuning to increase power from 225hp (168kW) to 235hp (175kW). Suspension was modified over the standard suspension with firmer springs and dampers, larger anti-roll bars, stronger front control arm ball joints, a lower ride height, and slightly more negativecamber.Car and Drivermagazine track-tested the car, which returned a 0–60mph time of 5.6 seconds and passed through the 1/4 mile in 14.3 seconds.”
Why: I honestly did not intend to sell this beloved BMW Coupe. I absolutely love the car and it’s been nothing but reliable, extremely fun to drive and an absolute joy to own. However such is life and another vehicle has reared it’s head and it’s a “once in lifetime” opportunity to go for. With a few other vehicles in the collection I’ve decided to let the BMW go to a hopefully appreciative and deserving home. One that will not “destroy the car and let it complete its journey to a car that is approaching “collector” status. BMW during this period still manufactured vehicles that were not just “rolling computers”. The owner can actually service it. No accidents abuse or track days. That said, sale of the car is not a desperate measure and there is no rush so please no low balling the asking price. This car is not a “starter” 3 series.
