Up for sale is a beautiful 2011 BMW 328i with only 42.5K miles on it. This is an awesome car and I really do no want to see it go, but our family has out grown it. This car is absolutely stunning and is in great shape. Pictures of this car speak for themselves, but this gorgeous car has an interesting story. I plan to be as honest and transparent about this car as I would want someone else to be towards me if I were interested in buying this car. I will do my best to describe this car’s story.
In 2011, this BMW was delivered to a dealership in south Florida (Miami Area) and original owner and was involved a rear fender bender. The car only needed cosmetic repairs, no airbags deployed or (can provide pictures upon request). After the repair, the car was driven over a year or so and was being serviced at a dealership or shop (not sure which) and the business was flooded due to a heavy storm and filed an insurance flood claim on all of the cars within their inventory. This car was part of the claim and although the car was indoors at the time of the flood and never saw water. Please see the vehicle history report.
In March 2014, I bought the car (on Ebay for a little under $20,000) from a reputable vehicle rebuilder in Michigan (near Detroit) that bought the car at an insurance auction and he went over the car and Michigan issued the car a “rebuilt” title with a “flood damage” note. As for the seller, his name is Mike and you can check him out on eBay (100% feedback & over 1,000 cars sold and almost 8,000 followers on Ebay) at sellername: michael-s2 (just type in his user name in Ebay to search him). He told me the car's history back in Feb. 2014 that the car was perfect and guaranteed me that the car never seen any water. I was very hesitant to buy, but took a leap of faith in Mike and bought it. I also went ahead and had it shipped from Michigan.
Upon receiving the car, I took it to a local BMW specialist (Blue Ridge Motors) and let the owner, Greg (Master ASE mechanic with 30+ years of experience), look over the car and he told me with 99% certainty that the car had not seen any water. Upon the good news, I wrote a letter to Tennessee DMW with the local DMV clerk encouraging me to do so and submitted it with my title from Michigan and Tennessee issued me a title does not state anything about a “rebuilt” or “flood” car. I encourage you to look at the vehicle's history report as well. I am also willing to provide a copy of the title upon request.
I bought the car with 24K miles on it and after driving is for 6-7 months (right around 30K), I started noticing a slight vibration in the car around 30 MPH, so I took it back to the specialist. He drove it and told me that the torque convertor was going bad and was very common for 2011 and older cars. After researching, turns out this was very, very common and that BMW changed torque convertor vendor mid-2011 due to the overwhelming amount of bad convertors in the 3 and 5 series cars. My mechanic said, BMW should have issued a recall on due to the amount of bad ones, but BMW never did. However, BMW did do this, they heavily discounted brand new transmissions due to this problem. I went ahead and replaced the transmission with a brand new OEM transmission (not rebuilt) with the new and improved torque convertor from the Asheville, NC BMW dealership. It came with a two year warranty and is still in effect and this took place right at 30K (repairs were almost $3,300 with core exchange). Every since then, the car has been a complete dream to drive and is running perfectly and shifts super smooth. I know this car has a complicated past, but it really is a super nice car and that is a dream to drive that demands attention on the road. Here is a chance to have a pretty, low mileage 328i for very buyer-friendly price. This car has been garaged kept and waxed every 6 months.
Currently, the front bumper has several very small rock chips that need to be touched up. The rear bumper has a scuff in the paint due to someone rubbing me when my car was parked. There is a small dent (1/8” in size) right above the driver door handle. There is a small rock crack in the windshield on the driver side that happen one day I was driving behind a semi truck. I had satellite up out and fill it, but you can still see it some (3/16”-1/4”). Lastly, the driver side cup holder that slides out quit working. With all that being said, the car is not perfect, but the condition and wear is about as good as it gets for a 2011.
If you would like to make an offer on the car, please be ready to submit a $200 deposit immediately (non-refundable, unless you are not happy with the car after driving it and we can talk about it). I want to be as reasonable as possible for both parties involved. You will not be disappointed, this car is awesome. Please email or text me (423) 341-9219 if you have questions or concerns.
