1999 BMW 7-Series Description

ATTN: Choppers, Scrappers, Junk Yards & Parts Dealers
ThisAuction for a1999 BMW 750iL with only 160,475 miles on the solid running engine represents a great opportunity to cash in on its raw parts and scrap metal value (with scrap metal prices on the rise!). Please read this entire description carefully as it's accurate and complete with respect to the condition of the vehicle including the interior.
It can't be driven as the transmission failed into limp home mode, followed later by the torque converter finally burning out completely.
The primary battery has since failed and won't hold a charge, so it can't currently be started, although the engine was running solidly at the time it was towed in and parked.
Aside from the driver's door window regulator siezing up, and one rear seat window regulator needing replacement, everything else was working nominally when I had to park it.
Although I drove it very gently for approximately 34K miles over the 5 years I used it myself, the interior is somewhat rough(see detailed description below) as it was when I received it as an insurance replacement 6 years ago. In my opinion, the vehicle is not worth the cost of repairs and restoration, and I just drove it for basic transportation until it couldn't be driven any longer.
The only minor body damage is shown in the pictures. When the highway patrol tried to push it up an off ramp where it died on me to get it out of the way of traffic, the rear bumper trim came off and got lost during the tow back to my home.
The lower area where the driver's door meets the front left fender has a small dent from hit and run parking lot damage, as shown in the last photo in the series.
High Value Items
All other body panels and doors, hood, trunk lid and front bumper assembly are in good condition.
All the glass (including the so called and hard to find used "bullet proof glass" door windows) is in good condition. These windows are some of the many high value components you'll be able to easily sell for a nice chunk of change. There is no delamination, cracking or clouding in any of the door window glass.
The coveted 5 spoke alloy rims are in good condition and with a good cleaning and steel wool polishing, absolutely gleam, although they're very dirty in the pictures.
All 4 tires are high value low profile 18" Michelin Pilot SPORT A/S PLUS steel radials with considerable useful tread on them that can easily be resold as well, on or off the rims. I suspect you should be able to recover the investment of your winning bid just from the resale of the rims and tires alone.
The original 12 Cylinder Enginewas running solidly and reliably. I kept a combination of Mobil One plus Ethos FR oil booster in it and it always ran very smooth and cool. Judging from the prices these used engines tend to sell for, this engine is undoubtedly the single most valuable component in this vehicle that will bring you a high dollar return on your winning bid.
The cooling system, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor (and related components), steering and suspension parts all were working nominally.
All of the lamp housings appear to be in good condition as well.
All four brake calipers are fine, although the pads and rotors are shot.
The drive shaft, final driverear end and rear axle are good too.
Two full sized spare tires on stock BMW rims in nearly unused condition are yours with your winning bid as well.
After chopping and parting the valuable parts of the car out as much as possible and stripping out the interior, the final scrap metal value of the frame should bring back some nice coin too with the price of scrap metal on the rise as it is.
Interior Description
The driver's seat leather is virtually completely destroyed. The power seat panel clips for the driver's seat are broken. The driver's interior door panel is quite rough. The steering wheel leather is a bit rough. All other interior door panels are in good condition. The passenger and rear seat are both in good condition. The headliner for the moonroof separated from its sliding cover. The rest of the headliner is good. The dash and center console are in good condition (and to the best of my memory, all displays were working nominally), aside from the driver's armrest (the leather covering is shot), and the glovebox release and locking mechanism is stuck. The carpeting is in good condition. There are no floor mats. The rocker floor trim panel on the driver's side has broken clips, as does the A frame interior trim panel behind the driver's seat. The small triangular window shades in the rear seat no longer retract properly. The interior is quite dusty from the driver's door window being stuck halfway down due to the regulator siezing up. As I mentioned previously, the rough parts of the interior made the car not worth repairing to me, so if a completely fine interior is a concern for you as a parts and salvage vehicle, understand this and bid accordingly.
