1998 BMW 5-Series Description

I have owned this car for about 2-1/2 years now. Unfortunately, my age has caught up to me and I must get knee and shoulder surgery soon. Recovery will take months and I do not want this car to sit outside, as I have bought another bmw with an automatic to replace her. If you are looking at this ad, you probably know about the e39 bmw. I have owned dozens of hi-line cars in my life, this car is truly unique for its power, handling, reliability, comfort and ergonomics. It is, quite simply, the best car I have ever owned. Only Mobile1 synthetic and Mahn filters.
The pixels are completely gone in the odometer, it was that way when i bought it. True mileage is unknown. I buy cars for the miles left in them, not the miles that are on them. This car has LOTS of miles left in her. The description i will give you is the most accurate and honest one you will see on ebay. any questions, please contact me through ebay. If you want pictures of a specific area of the car, i will be happy to accomodate.
THE GOOD;
The engine runs very smooth, and very, very strong. no check engine lights are on. It does not smoke, leak, or burn oil. The cooling system functions perfectly, this car can sit in orlando heat with the ac cranking and it doesn"t even think of getting hot. The a/c works better and is colder than any car I have ever owned, new or old. I have no idea why, its just amazing! The transmission shifts just like it should, very positive with no slop or grinding. Suspension and steering are super tight and responsive. all body panels are original, as is the paint. The interior seats,door panels,and carpets are all very nice. All power equipment works with the exception of the 2 back windows, yep its the regulators.... I have the original window sticker, books and manuals, case, even he cassette drivers instuction tape... The car is bone stock, no modifications from factory original and no rust.
THE NOT SO GOOD, OR.... WHAT I WOULD DO IF I COULD KEEP IT FOR A COUPLE MORE YEARS.......
The front brake rotors are warped, they do pulsate from time to time. Both rear regulators for the power windows need to be replaced. Yes, the front drivers cupholder is broken..and yes, it could use a new windshield molding.It has normal dings and stone chips for a car this age. The timing Chain is just starting to tick a bit. I bought the new tensioner and believe it will resolve that. I will include that, as well as an extra oil filter. There is no need to remove the timing chain cover to replace the tensioner, easy job for a young fellow. It could use another really good detail. Headlight lenses are starting to cloud up. It will need a set of tires in about another 7-10k miles. These are all things I could and would do myself if not for the injuries I have. Oh yeah, the original phone is missing, and I only have one key... The warning light just went on for a burned out brake light bulb. If you pull a carfax you might see a minor accident about 1-1/2 years ago. A guy in a ford expedition decided to park his whale with the front bumper touching my grill, i was not happy.. police report filed, I have pictures of it. Very little damage was done, I did not want to repaint the front of the hood because i have yet to see it matched properly on a silver car. Again, I can send you pictures of the actual "accident" if you like.
BOTTOM LINE IS....
PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T INTEND TO BUY. PLEASE DON'T BID IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. PLEASE DON'T BID IF YOU ARE BUYING THIS CAR AS A FIRST CAR FOR YOUR KID. THIS IS NOT A CAR FOR BEGINNERS...IT HAS WAY TOO MUCH POWER IMHO. NO RESERVE, THE MARKET WILL DETERMINE WHAT THE BOTTOM LINE IS.I do have the car advertised locally for a ridiculous amount of money... I reserve the right to sell it for that
