1948 BUICK SPECIAL!
TRUE BARN FIND
Iām selling this car for my friend.
Up for bid is this original 1948 Buick Special. The car has been sitting in the same spot since September 1968 until a week ago. This car is a one owner, Colorado car and has the original title and other paperwork dated back in October 1948. The owner kept all the repairs dated and oil changes listed a unique way on a piece of cardboard hanging in his garage. 92,721 is the actual miles on the car. When the owner purchased it new, he had seat covers put on it, so the interior seats are nice. Headliner and dash is very nice original. This Buick is solid and absolutely no rust. Glass is good all around. Beautiful hood ornament and chrome trim, bumpers and grille are complete and looks nice, other than a small place on the passenger side spear where a repair was done. Latches, handles and window regulatorsall function proper. Locks and extra keys. The car was repainted back in the early ā60s. Royal Maroon exterior and grey interior. 15" bias ply tires. Rear seat heat ducts. Full gauge cluster with Buick radio and functional knobs. Engine is a straight 8 Fireball Dynaflash. Hood opens from either side or can be removed.
This car was a daily driver until he parked it back in 1968. This Buick is bone stock and has nothing custom, hot rod, or streetrod about it.
What the car needs is a gas tank repair ā tank was punctured when we moved it last week and a battery, and it should start, run and drive. Brakes and suspensionwill need to be checked and the clutch feels good. There is a box of extra parts that go with it and some hubcaps. Also, an extra set of [blue] fender skirts for the Buick and the 16ā rims are included in the auction.
