LONG Story SHORT
I drove my Reatta off the showroom floor over 25 years ago. It has always been in California. It has been our baby since. Carefully cared for, always garaged, serviced as required by non smokers. I wish a collector would buy it. I have all original books and ‘stuff’ that came with it. I’m a collector of sorts but ‘I’m getting there’ and you know what that means. I’m selling my cars. I will include the shop manual and an extra ECM which are hard to find and anything else related to Reatta. 408-482-1477 The car is in Los Gatos, CA.
NEXT a little HISTORY
BUICK REATTA
The Buick Reatta was a luxury sports coupe produced by General Motors from 1988 to 1991. The Reatta's engine was located in the front of the vehicle. Front-wheel drive was standard on all model years. Unlike other sports coupes, the Reatta did not come with a manual transmission or offer it as an option. It was classified as a grand tourer size car.
The Reatta was equipped with a 3.8-liter, V6 engine throughout its entire production run. This engine delivered 170 horsepower. The Buick Reatta was exclusively manufactured in Lansing, Mich., during its entire production run.
The 1988 Buick Reatta, the first model year, was only available as a two-door coupe. In 1990, the introduction of the convertible option allowed consumers to choose between a cloth or vinyl convertible top with glass rear window. The vehicle came with many standard features that other manufacturers only offered as options, making the Reatta attractive to people who wanted a luxury car with the latest features but not the additional cost. Standard interior features included power bucket front seats, power windows and locks, and keyless entry. Exterior features included a power antenna, tinted glass and fog lamps. Leather seating and steering wheel trim was standard, as was a premium audio system with AM-FM/cassette player. Consumers could upgrade to an optional CD player.
