1969 Buick Riviera
1969 Buick Riviera Base Description
I have a super nice 1969 Buick Riviera that I am offering for sale. I call her Frenchie. I have owned this Riviera for over 6 years and it is my pride and joy. I have driven this car 10,000 miles in that time. Runs good starts good and stops well. This car has 76,000 original miles on it with numbers matching engine and transmission. 430 c.i. big block with 360 hp and 4 barrel Quadra jet carb. The carburetor is a rebuilt 1968 piece. I do have the stock one also. This Riviera stayed with the original owner in Roanoke Virginia where it was bought new and in his care for 30 years. I am the fourth owner. I picked this car up in Cleveland from a guy who had it 8 years in stock condition. Since purchasing this Riviera I have done a ton of detailing and restoring of many parts of this car. This car has only been painted once in the year 2000. The color is a tiny bit brighter than stock and is from a 2000 Nissan Xterra. There was never any rust on this Buick and I would rate the paintwork a solid 7.5. I have wet sanded the clear coat to a very nice shine. There are no scratches in the pant. This car is perfect for a driver and great for car shows. There are a few stone chips in the paint from use that I have touched up. There are no major dings. The underside is typical of a car with 76,000 miles but not rusty. The vinyl top is perfect and there is no rust bubbles under it or in the window channels. The chrome bumpers are original and nice. There are a few dings in the bumpers although it does not take anything away from the overall appearance of this beautiful car. There is small pitting and spider webbing in the chrome see pictures. This car turns heads. I have lowered it 3 inches all the way around with custom springs and new shocks. The tires are 2 years old along with the cragar 69 series wheels, spider caps and trim rings. I had a front alignment done last year. All of the stainless trim around the car is nice without damage. I have even restored the rocker panel trim. The interior is also in great shape. At some point in the past the power strato bench front seat was recovered and is a different type of cloth than the back seat which is stock and in good shape. Both door panels are perfect. The carpet is original. I have added an 80’s Oldsmobile steering wheel. The horn still operates as it should. I have the perfect stock steering wheel also. It is a stock tilt column and all locks on this car are correct. The dash pad and gauges are perfect. I have added a tachometer. The headliner is stock and the seams have split in 3 small spots (not badly). The power windows all work great. The roof rail weather strip is dried out and could use updating but not needed. The vacuum cruise control, headlights and trunk release all operate fine. The wipers work well but the washer does not. I have added a CD player and 2 new 6x9s in the stock locations with a small amp under the front seat. The AC system is all there and will need service. The compressor does kick on. The previous owner told me that it used to work for him? I just drop the windows and cruise. The original jack is intact and the factory spare has never been mounted ever, it still has the blue stuff protecting the triple white wall. The rim is mint just like day one. I have the protecto plate and owner’s manual along with other documentation goodies. I have had the front bumper off and detailed all behind it. I have repainted the top of the motor and detailed the entire engine compartment. I even located an original 1967 only Buick air breather and restored it. The motor runs good and has never been rebuilt. The points have been taken out for a Pertronics electronic ignition. The radiator was cleaned and sealed last year. The turbo 400 is strong and works well. Last year I installed a new oil pan seal although it still leaks small drops of oil. The starter is newer. The master cylinder is newer. The brakes work great. The exhaust is in good shape and not rusty. There is a small exhaust leak at the passenger muffler flange, it is clamped only. I was going to change from the Smitty’s and install Cherry Bomb glass packs and have them welded in. I have always used premium gas in this car since I have owned it. Stock and extra parts will go with the car. I am sure I am forgetting things. I have put lots of time and money into this to make it the best I could. Clear Ohio title. If you would like more photos of the car or would like to view it please contact me. My name is Grant. My phone number is 419-302-3215. U.S. sale only. Sold as-is no warranty.
