This 1940 Buick Special underwent a complete body restoration in 2010. There is NO body filler as the car was straight and virtually rust free. The floors and trunk were always solid, withnever any holesor patchwork. It was stored in a heated and cooled garage most of it's life and its condition is reflective of its care. The car was repainted in its original black paint using Dupont paints and clear coat. The interior is good as it is original and never restored. The straight 8 motor runs great, it does not leak,use or burn oil. The 3-speed manual column transmission shifts perfectly. The tires are recent radial black wall tires that hold the road well. The suspension is in great shape with excellent shock action. THIS IS A FANTASTIC BASE MODEL BUICK FOR 1940. THE RADIO AND HEATER DO NOT WORK, HOWEVER ALL COMPONANTS ARE PRESENT. THE ODOMETER AND ALL GAUGES WORK PROPERLY. A NEW TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS ADDED TO ENSURE TEMPERATURE ACCURACY. THE CAR RUNS COOL AND HAS NEVER RUN HOT OR OVERHEATED.
