1960 Buick Electra Description
Up for sale is our 1960 Buick Electra 225 2 door hardtop in used condition. It runs and drives and starts and stops. Has a Nail head 445 ci v8 motor that sounds good. Automatic transmission [does leak some trans oil] Has Power Steering and Power Brakes. It has good oil pressure, brakes work fine, turn signals work, headlights work, brake lights work. Windshield wipers work, interior lights work, heater works. The radio doesn't work. No a/c on the car. It has a new interior that is a copy of the original in a nice black cloth and vinyl, door panels, seat covers, carpet, head liner. The Previous owner sanded it down and used Hot Rod Black Epoxy on the exterior. [it was originally green] It has new re chromed bumpers front and back. Grill is in nice shape still pretty shinny. Most of the trim is in nice shape, it is missing the clips to hold on the rear fender trim [you see tape in the pics holding it down]. It has nice Buick 3 shield mirrors and 2 new dummy spots mounted [looks cool] Decent taillights . The wheel wells are in good shape along with the fenders. The trunk floor is good and solid. All in all the body is pretty darn good for living its life in Lake Geneva Wisconsin 1st owner was a pilot so it wasn't driven much we believe the mileage to be correct at 97956 but that is our opinion. It needs all the weather seals replaced, and a paint job and a look at the trans leak. $3700 spent for the interior and bumpers alone.

PREVIOUS OWNER OF THIS CAR TOOK ALL THE CHROME TRIM OFF, SANDED IT DOWN AND BOUGHT HOT ROD SEMI GLOSS PAINT. HE PUT ROCKER PANELS, AND REPAIRED THE FLOOR WITH FACTORY MADE INSERT PANELS. THIS WAS ALL DONE 5+ YEARS AGO. FOR THE BONDO PEOPLE THAT THINK EVERY CAR IS HIDING SOMETHING IT SHOWS NO BUBBLING AFTER 5+ YEARS. THIS CAR IS NOT LOADED WITH BONDO. THE HOOD IS RUST FREE NO BONDO! THE TRUNK LID IS RUST FREE NO BONDO! THE DOORS ARE RUST FREE NO BONDO! THE REAR QUARTERS ARE 99% RUST FREE, THE WHEEL WELLS WHEN YOU REACH BEHIND THEM ARE SMOOTH, NO RUST, NO WELDING, NO RUSTY SCALE STICKING OUT. THE REAR BOTTOM OF THE QUARTER SHOWS NO HOLES, THEY ARE VERY NICE. THE FRAME IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND BODY MOUNTS LOOK GOOD TOO.
THE PART THAT NEEDS WORK ON THIS CAR WAS A COMMON THING ON 1960 BUICK, CHEVY, OLDS, PONTIAC. WHEN THE BATTERY WAS LEFT IN THIS CAR IT LEAKED. OVER 56 YEARS THE BATTERY BOX AND FENDER WELL NEED RUST REPAIR!!
THIS IS A HARD TO FIND CAR IN A 2 DOOR HARDTOP. IN 1960 A BUICK LIKE THIS WAS IN HOT ROD MAG WITH CUSTOM PAINT JOB WITH A GREAT BODY STYLING FROM THE FACTORY. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS CAR IS CLASSIC STYLING AND BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IF WE DIDN'T NEED THE ROOM WE WOULDN'T SELL IT. WE ENJOY JUST LOOKING AT IT.
