1990 Cadillac Fleetwood 4dr Sedan Description

1990 Cadillac Fleetwood FWD 4.5L V8

Exterior color Antelope Fire Mist

Tan interior

History of the car:

The Cadillac was purchased at Piercey Cadillac. This Cadillac spent all of its life in California just west of San Francisco in a city called Menlo Park. The owner then gave the car to charity and the charity sold it to a dealer in Georgia.I bought it from this dealer in Georgia in July 2015.They boxed shipped it to me.I bought the car with about 11500 miles. I have since added 3000 miles to the car.It now has 14,174 miles.Still smells new. This car is 100% rust free.

:

Interior:

All leather seats are in excellent condition.Soft, supple not dried out.NO tares or fading.Back seats look like no one has ever sat on them.

Dash is solid, not warped, not cracked or faded.

All power features work 100% including radio and antenna.I had radio re-build by a classic car stereo company here in Florida and the antenna cable was replace. All features are 100% functional.

Floor mats are the originals and the carpets are like new.

Headliner is in excellent condition. Vanity mirrors in the front and rear work and they light up great.

AC is ice cold and heater works as well.

Cruise control works.

All door panels are like new.

Weather stripping on doors and trunk are like new.Not hard or cracked. It is unbelievable how well this car has held up after 26 years.

Exterior:

Paint is like new. This car has never been re-painted as far as I can tell and I have been through this car with a fine tooth comb. All original. There are couple of door dings but nearly impossible to point out because they are small.

The wheels shine and the emblems on the center cap are like new on all four.NO road rash, super clean.

Trunk is like it left the factory, brand new.

All chrome trim looks great. All emblems are like new with zero fading. Cadillac crests are shinny and the colors are solid.

The vinyl top is in excellent condition.

Engine bay:

Only one word can describe this engine bay NEW.

Undercarriage:

The underside of the car is clean. The car has NO oil leaks or any fluid leaks of any kind. What the pix show that seems like an oil leak is NOT an oil leak.It is the undercoat/rustproof material that gets loose and forms a gel like wet look when the car heats up.You can remove it with your finger when hot but once it cools down it hardens like wax. Again NO oil leaks or fluid leaks of any kind.

Mechanical Repairs:

This car had been idle for many months if not years and it seems to me by the condition of the car in an indoor perhaps air conditioned facility of some kind.Because it was never used mechanical issues arose and repaired.I have all receipts on the repairs.

Here is a list of repairs:

  • Two fuel injectors were bad.I replaced all eight with OEM injectors and the fuel filter.

  • All four shocks/struts were replaced keeping the rear air suspension (the OEM air compressor for the rear suspension is 100% functional). The old struts/shocks were the originals but they were too soft. They deteriorated over the last 2 decades.

  • Alignment on all four wheels

  • The car arrived with 4 nearly brand new Vogue tires (see the pix) BUT they were dry rotted (I’m crying at this moment).I replaced all four with Firestone white wall radials.

  • All motor mounts were replaced including the hydraulic mounts and were replaced with brand new hydraulic mounts. I DID NOT OPT FOR THE HARD, NON HYDRAULIC MOUNTS.

  • Front brakes were replaced.Rear brakes inspected and found to be the OEM and in excellent condition.

  • All fluids had been replaced by someone else.Transmission, brake fluid and anti-freeze all look new and smell new. I replaced the oil (although new when I bought the car) with Mobil One Synthetic and filter.

  • Air filter was replaced.

  • Spark plug cables had been replaced and spark plugs (at least the front four were inspected) and found to be in excellent condition.

  • I replaced the distributor cap and rotor just to be on the safe side.Plastic will deteriorate over time.

  • NO expense was spared to make sure this car would be road worthy. You can fly in and drive away without worries.Although, you may find a similar Cadillac for less I bet you have to do a ton of work on it.This Cadillac has had everything that needed to be done… DONE.

The Cadillac rides quiet and smooth.Like driving in a bubble surrounded by a cloud.Like a Cadillac should. Car has the original owner’s manual and 2 sets of gold keys.Plus all service done by me and a Carfax I had printed out when I bought the car.

I am very picky about this car and here are some things that it has and you should expect to have for a car that is 26 years old.It has the 2 dings I told you about, a small paint chip on the plastic molding that runs above the rear passenger wheel (nothing a bit of touch up paint can’t fix). Also, the steering wheel Cadillac crest on the air bag has a tiny bit of rubber (see pix of air bag, find crest on air bag and look at the 11 o’clock) missing. It looks like over time it just stretch out but the air bag is intact. That’s it.Enjoy. If there is a picture you would like, let me know.
