You are bidding on RARE, Last-year-for-rear-wheel-drive 1966 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. This beauty is in mostly ORIGINAL beautiful condition! This Caddy was purchased in Florida in 2012, has only 71,000 original miles and she’s ready for summer cruising! The body is very straight with no major dings, dents or other issues. It is in very nice, shiny condition. I believe the 429 ci V8 and GM Hydra-Matic automatic transmission are the original numbers-matching units for this car. She runs and drives and most items still work on the car. Options include… power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power seat, power windows, power top, tilt-telescoping steering wheel and AC. This is one Caddy that gives you that ultimate luxury experience.
This is a rare classic car with a reserve to protect some of its value. If the reserve is not met we will work with the high bidder to complete the sale. Bid retractions are not accepted. Retracting your bid for an incorrect amount without entering a corrected amount is a clear attempt to reveal the Reserve as well as a violation of eBay policy. We permanently block bidders who violate this policy and also report the violation to eBay.
The Body is straight with a better-than-average Blue metallic paint job. The panels look to be all-original with one repaint. The body has had some minor cosmetic work performed in the past but being from Florida it is still very nice, straight and solid. There are no visible issues other than a few stone chips from being enjoyed on the open road. Paint job is still shiny and has a deep look. The repaint is 10+ years old and there are a few chips and imperfections and some swirl marks in the paint. Over all, still a great look.
The condition of the ORIGINAL chrome and brite work is good-to-nice condition. Most stainless just needs polishing and buffing. The chrome is weathered but no pitting and still looks shiny. Bumpers are nice and straight, and still have nice luster to them. Rear bumper was rechromed. The glass is in great condition with no cracks or delamination. The weatherstripping appears to be original and in good-to-fair condition. Convertible top is in great shape with no rips or tears and is still bright white. The top works great and fast! The exterior could use a detailing to bring out all the beauty in this classic convertible.
The Interior is in great condition! The white leather seats are new, marshmallow soft with no rips or tears. Door panels and door panel wood inlays are new. Top is newer. Dash, dash pad, and carpet are in great shape. A few items could use some updating but can be enjoyed as is. Dash is in good condition with most things working on the dash. All the lights, directionals, speedo, gauges, blower and horn work. All the windows do operate! Power seat does operate as do the doors, trunk, and hood. The steering wheelis in great condition except for the center button, which is showing its age. Steering wheel is nice and tight with tilt and telescopic functions!
The Drivetrain appears to be original. The 429 4-barrel V8 runs great, idles and drives without issues and makes no noises or smoke. Has plenty of power and will light the tires if so desired. The ignition system has been overhauled and updated with a Petronix points-elimination kit 2 years ago. Water pump bearings were making noise. Owner elected to have it replaced so there would be no issues for the new owner. The GM Hydra-Matic automatic transmission shifts as it should. Power brakes and steering both work fine without issues. The air conditioning compressor does operate and is NOT locked up. The system does NOT work. Most of the components are there except for the condenser and one line which were removed by the prior owner who never go around to replacing them and they are missing. Current owner has not replaced them either.
The Undercarriageis in nice solid condition. Frame and floor are nice and solid with only minor rust issues at the rear body mounts to which someone in the past made a band-aid repair. Should be an easy repair for a restoration shop if so desired. It’s purely cosmetic and does not affect the car. Trunk drop offs have had some minor body work on the very bottoms. Nothing major and the repairs have been stable for over 10 years so far. No rust issues or bubbles coming through the paint anywhere. Very stable repairs. Hubcaps are nice but showing the age and the white wall tires are in good shape with lots of tread.
A new dual exhaust was installed a few years back to replace the old single exhaust. The jack is in the trunk.
Other info: The car is in pretty much original condition. It is in better-than-cruiser shape but not quite show car condition. Could be restored to its original showroom condition with out large expense since most items are there, in good condition and do work.
Trim plate that goes around the HVAC controller fell off and is the trunk.
Heater control cable is disconnected from the control but you can pull on the cable by hand to operate the blower vent.
Car comes with 1 set of factory keys and clear title.
Car comes with clear Ohio title stating 81,620 ACTUAL MILES. The odometer on the car shows 71,692 miles and it is working and it has not been replaced. The owner went to the Ohio Bureau of Motor vehicles to get the mileage corrected since we believed the State of Ohio made a typo in the mileage during its original out-of-state inspection. The Ohio BMV produced a copy of the Florida title which showed 80,000+ miles so the typo came that way from the State of Florida and the State of Ohio will not correct it. The title states 81,620 ACTUAL MILES. Also, the car does not have an original VIN tag. It has a re-issued VIN tag from the State of Florida.
You should not have any problem titling or registering this car in any of the 50 States or Overseas. The only issue may be that you may not get the words ACTUAL MILES on your title. It may be listed as Exceeded or Mileage Discrepancy but would still be able to be titled, registered and plated.
I realize that it is difficult to purchase a vehicle you may not be able to inspect in person. I build vehicles too – so I try to show you everything I would want to see if I was buying a vehicle for myself. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my vehicles accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy buyers worldwide so you can be confident when making a purchase.
This description includes a video (the first picture should have a “Play” arrow on it). The video may not play on all mobile phones. Please view it on your computer if it doesn’t play on your cell phone.
I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my expertise as a vehicle builder, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. Please ask questions before bidding! This is being solid AS IS with no warranty or guarantees and is up to the buyer to verify any and all info listed above in the description! This vehicle is also for sale locally. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle. Again, this is a classic vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It’s not perfect or a museum piece so there may be minor imperfections in the body, brite work and glass. Anything to note is listed above.

I am not responsible for any fees or taxes associated with registration, license plates or any out-of-pocket costs. Nor am I responsible for emissions compliance. Buyer is responsible for all state, county, city taxes & fees as well as title, registration, license plates and emissions compliance in the State/County that the vehicle will be registered. No warranty, sold as is.

A list of contact information for some of the shipping companies previous Buyers have used can be provided upon request for your quotation and shipping needs.
