1957 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan De Ville. 87k original miles. Highly optioned car. Original everything, motor, auto-trans, carb. I even think it’s original interior.
THE GOOD: Has working power steering, working power brakes, is an A/C model, original wheels + hub caps, original radio, power antenna, power seats. Engine runs, transmission shift into gear smooth. Floor pans look great, so does the trunk. Only surface rust except for two small spots. Glass is all there, no cracks. Almost all of the chrome is there.
THE BAD: Previous owners tore out carpet and disassembled the interior. I have all the door hardware and panels in boxes and they look fairly well labeled. A/C is missing condenser but pullies and controls are there. Controls for power antenna sound like they’re working but antenna doesn’t move. Motor starts good but after the choke comes off, it stops. Previous owner had it driving around the block and said transmission shifted good. The only non surface rust I see is in front of the back wheels on the quarter panel about the size of a quarter. Does have a dent on passenger side of car that has surface rust but a good body guy should be able to tackle it no problem.
THE OPERTUNITY: With new paint and interior this car could be turned into an all original show stopper. Hemmings listed the 57 series 62 as one of the best car to restore because of easy access to parts, high restoration value, and America love for Cadillacs.
I sure there is more so feel free to ask questions. I have only owned it for two month and had big plans for it. I found a car I fell in love with more and it pains me but I can’t keep them both.
