Hi Folks,
Well it’s time to sell my beloved Eldorado, nick named, Dora. She’s been a labor of love for the last 5 years, but it’s time to move on.
I am the third owner of this California original. She’s lived all her life, except for the last 5 years, in Modesto. She was ordered from GM in 1970 with very specific options: tilt and telescopic wheel, air conditioning, leather seats and cruise control.Sometime during her life with the first owners, she was involved in a minor accident. The story goes that one of her doors was badly damaged.Considering her age at the time and the cost of repair, the insurance company paid out and she received a salvage title. She was bought back and repaired. There was no frame damage.
The next owner was the Chiropractor of the elderly, original owners. When the wife could no longer handle driving, the car was sold. The Eldorado resided with the doctor till his death in which she was sold to me.
This is a very enjoyable car to drive with her massive 500 cubic in. engine producing 400hp and glorious long hood.I am proud to add that she has been the winner of two second place awards in two car shows. As you can see by the pictures, she is a stunning example of “art on wheels”.That gorgeous color minus the vinyl top presents her as quite regal.
The interior of the car is all original. There are no cracks or tears on the beautiful, contoured leather seats. They are as soft as they were when she rolled off the assembly line. The dash, head liner and carpet are perfect.I had two, one piece carpeted mats made that match the original carpeting. All the windows work from their separate switches, but do stick a bit from the main switch panel.Contact cleaning will solve this problem. All of the HVAC is there, but not presently working. We believe this issue to be the main switch.Clock and radio do not work, radio turns on, but no sound.
