1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Description

You are bidding on a 1966 ChevelleMalibu. This car is as close to a time capsule that I have seen. I have put 4,687 miles on the car in the 7 years that I have owned it. I drove the car on family trips, on several 5 hour rides as well as to many show and cruise nights.Never over heated and has always ran great. The engine does not make any noise and transmission shifts as a power glide should. This is one of the few cars on eBay you can literally pick up and drive home.I fell in love with originality of the car. This car is such a great platform to start with. It can be restored (which wouldn't take much), can be built for the pro touring look or even built as a nice street/strip car. I had dreams of building a nice street car but after driving it I realized it's only original once.

Is the mileage original? Not sure, I can tell you that this car was well cared for and for all it's life. I have replaced the following: battery, rear wheel cylinders, water pump dated (E 136-May 13 1966) thermostat and fuel pump. I will include all original parts replaced. I have rebuilt the originalcarburetor. Itstill hasoriginal brass id tag on it (7024110)! The radiator tank is stamped harrison and looks like it may have been recored at some point in its past. The thermostat that I removed was stamped delcostat. The original canister style oil filter with paper element is still on the car (will include extra element). When is the last time you have changed oil on one of these? The brake and fuel lines on the car also are originalwith spring still around them. The car still retains the original factoryGMbrake lineclipsriveted to the chassis. The master cylinder was changed at some time in the past. The fuel line still shows the worn cloth wrap as it goes through front chassis. 3 of the head lights are T3. Its still has the original 37 amp alternator with one piece fan and pulley design dated (6E19-May 19,1966) with external voltage regulator embossed delco remy. I did change one of the bearings in the alternator case. The horn relay also embossed delco remy. I did remove carpet and seats to show on how solid and original this car is. I have put this car on a lift and taken many pics. The chassis is rock solid. There is minimal rust on the car. The trunk is original. There are some holes in a few areas as seen in pics and slight pitting in a few areas. The trunk was resprayed with spatter paint. The carpet is original and looks like it should be replaced. The headliner is also original and does have a few holes, not hanging or sagging. The a.m. radio lights ups and crackles, that's it. The high horn is not working and will need to be replaced but the low works.

There is evidence that some areas on the car were touched up over the years. All of the quarter panels and trunk floor are original. I have no doubts saying the metal on the car is 99% original GM. The paint on the car is not great and shows it's age. There is chips and some faded paintetc. All of the chrome/aluminum/stainless trims are in good shape. Some trim could be after market- like the center rally caps and trim rings. The rally rims are '69 Chevelle or Impala stamped YW 14x6 .88 offset onbfg205 70 14. Two front tires are new. A bias ply tire is on the car for a spare. Unfortunately I did not get the original jack. I do have owners manual. The springs do have a tag that looked to be like one of the originals. I could not clean to see if it was. The shocks were replaced at some point along the line. The car rides good but I would suggest the suspension could use some new components. See link below for addt'l pics. If any issue w/ link, I can email.......

All in allthis is a great car. You can drive it anywhere and not have to worry. This Chevelle can be driven as is or makes a great canvas for someone wanting to start a build specific car.
