2002 Chevrolet 2500 Duramax. 93,000 actual miles. It’s 4WD with the Allison Transmission. This truck has lived in the bone dry State of California since day one and was garaged every single night. Obviously not one speck of rust on this body.
It is hands down one of the nicest and cleanest in the Country. We all know these pre-DPF, and pre-DEF rigs are a dying breed and it’s a damn shame.
Of course this truck isn’t showroom new, $60,000 buys you a new one that has a mound of smog crap that does nothing but fail.
I spent 1 year looking for this truck. I went and drove about 20 ragged out piles of junk before I found this. I wanted an 01-02 for the looks of the front end and of course the LB7 motor. Once the injectors have been taken care of on the LB7, there is hardly a better motor for MPG, towing, and reliability. I purchased this about 7 months ago from a very particular older gentleman who owned a logging company. It had around 75K miles and he was the Original Owner. He had it professionally lifted with a 4”-6” adjustable RCD lift along with all 4 Bilstein 5100 shocks. He was not happy with the height and he had other trucks so this one was parked in his shed and driven very little the last handful of years. This truck is 100% factory stock other than that. The injectors were done at a Chevrolet dealership at 72k miles. There is absolutely no white smoke whatsoever as in NONE, not even the slightest haze. I have changed the fuel filter 3 times since I have owned it and have ran nothing but Stanadyne additive. It runs flawlessly.
The body on this truck does not have one ding or dent that I can find. There are pebble chips in the tailgate and I’m sure a few marks elsewhere but nothing silly. The rear bumper does have a ding. The interior has a small tear on the driver seat, a small tear on the back seat, and there is a little spot on the dash that is black (see pics) otherwise the inside is in good shape. It’s 14 years old so don’t expect perfect.
There are no idiot lights on the dash or funny acting gauges. Absolutely every single button works fine. The original owner used it a long while ago for 2 years to pull a 14’ Jayco Featherlight 5th a handful of times so it has the rear airbags. It has never hauled heavy or been overloaded or overheated.
After buying the truck I had to deal with the dreaded Chevy “pump rub” so it has a brand new transfer case to the tune of $2,000. I also had the front end gone over and new lifetime warranty a-arms with upper and lower ball joints were installed at $1000. You can set the cruise at 80 and drive it with a finger. I am selling this truck for one reason only and it’s because like the old owner, I am too damn old to be getting in and out of a lifted truck all day. That being said, I would consider trading for an equally as nice factory height 01-02 of the same truck. I am taking this rig on a road trip while it’s on auction and it will be around the Minneapolis, MN area at auction end. I can help with the arrangement of shipping from anywhere. I will be pulling these tires off and the truck will have the exact same ones but brand spanking new $1200 LT315/75R16 Toyo A/T 2’s when it sells. Not a better tire and there will be less than 100 miles on them for the new owner. The pictures tell the story and someone will be happy with this one. As stated, it’s 14 years old so please don’t expect brand new!
This is a NO RESERVE auction so please bid to win... Thanks guys
